Chuck was my cousin who I only met once when I was about 12 years old. He stayed with my family for about a week or two after he returned from Vietnam. I was in awe of this guy and always thought of him through the years.

Brothers and Sisters, Friends: We have all been blessed to have known Charles, a great warrior, a great peace advocate, who made us laugh even to the point of tears, who cooked up a storm and served it mildly, who was righteous. Chuck was my older brother's friend in high school. He added so much spice to our lives. He bunked with us after he returned from Vietnam. It was a colorful summer. Although my dad was very conservative and had a curfew for all who resided under his roof, Chuck had grown unaccustomed to such constraints. At one point, having not returned before the household deadline, Chuck managed to return home through some high windows in my brother's bedroom. The next day, unfortunately, his footprints were evident on the side of the house, as Chuck creatively climbed up the outside of the house after the witching hour.
He was my friend and a great good person. I am sorry he is not still with us. And, I'm sorry to not have had the opportunity to introduce my husband, Don, to Chuck. Don will never know the the complete energy of the imp I described to him in telling him of Chuck.
I hope the wind is at Chuck's back and the sunshine in his face. He deserves it.

Thoughts of Chuck have come to my mind many times in the last week, his humor, his hugs, that wonderful smile of his. I will miss so much him rounding out the circle of guys that come for the "film club", as I'm sure they will too. He never failed to ask about the bagels(kids) and how we were doing. My heart is heavy and he will be missed dearly. For those closest to Chuck, my hopes for you to find peace are in my prayers. Don't let a day go by without telling the people you love how much they mean to you.

I have not seen Chuck in years but I never forgot him. He was the most indomitable person I ever knew.

Chuck was a great guy and he will be missed by many. I always enjoyed his humor and his cooking. I haven't seen him for years but have thought of him many times through the years. My heart is saddened by his passing.
