Matt was one of my best friends growing up. I can't even count how many times we were neck deep in water fishing, frog hunting, catching bait...you name it, if it included being covered with mud, we did it. Matt was a great person and the kind of guy that everyone loved. I can assure you that the kind, adventurous person that you see on Storm Chasers was truly Matt's personality. He was a great friend and I will never forget the times I spent with him.

I hope that you will rest in peace and I thank you for the many fun times I have had watching you chase storms, my Grandson and I have learned a lot from you thanks. His last show aired in Australia and New Zealand last night. Watched it for the first time, not being a fan of the show. I saw a feather showing up from nowhere and travelling behind his friend who weathered the storm with Matt, while he was speaking about his experience knowing Matt. What a wonderful message to all his friends and family. Light and Love.

As we Watched him on television he showed a love of life. His laugh and smile was infectious. He seemed like a real positive guy. A friend everyone would want to have. I have always loved watching Storm Chasers and felt a special connection with Matt. His passion was infectious and I could feel it through the tv screen. Although it has been almost 6 months since Matt passed, I was truly shocked and saddened when I recently found out about it. I only know him from Storm Chasers, but I will miss him just the same as if I really knew him.

My heart goes out to the family. I have been watching Stormchasers since the very first episode and thought Matt and Brandon were a great addition to the chasing team. I loved watching Matt, he used to get so excited when chasing. I was shocked when watching the dedication episode and touched when watching the episode Smoke Monster. Prayers and condolences to the family of Matt Hughes. I am an avid fan of Storm Chasers. The dedication at the start of the show was such a shock that my jaw dropped and stayed there. Never expected to feel such joy for Matt watching him enjoy his final success and tears knowing that he is no longer with us. Please know that Matt entered the lives of so many and will be very much missed. This is so sad. God bless.

To the Family of Matt Hughes. Your husband, son, father, brother will be missed by many fans of Stormchasers as you probably well know. My son and I were avid fans & the show was our favorite show on TV & Matt was one of our favorite people. We were rooting for him for success when Sean brought him onboard the TIV. We cannot imagine the pain and heartache you must have endured since his tragic passing. The Dedication episode was triumphant yet very sad knowing that Matt was gone such a short time after the intercept. I know words are never enough but thank you for sharing him with those of us who also were fascinated by these powerful storms. It is so difficult to not have the why's answered now but someday they will be. God's healing on all your family!

I learned about Matt tonight and I'm just sick. God molds the most amazing people and sometimes needs to call them home early. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. You couldn't help but be drawn to Matt. I think what I liked most about him was the sincerity you could see in his face and eyes when he would speak to someone. He was a people person and a people pleaser. It would have been a tremendous honor to have met him. I regret that that isn't possible now. There will be no replacing Matt. Not ever.

I can not believe what I saw today on Storm Chasers. Matt was the good guy on the show, the on you would like to go out for a beer with. To see the excitement in his eyes and on his face after the perfect intercept he set up on today's program,I had tears rolling down my face. When the blog of Matt's death was shown, I went into shock. My sympathy to the entire Hughes family. I know you miss him greatly, but you can't help but be extremely proud of Matt. The work, he and other chasers do/did, will benefit all of us by providing weather knowledge that can help us survive weather emergencies. Rest in peace Matt. I'm sure God will show you how to chase tornados from Heaven.

My mom and I have been watching storm chasers for a few months now and were very sad about learning of Matt's death from the dedication episode. We're glad that he was able to live his dream, but sad he had to go so young. Our thoughts are with his family, especially his wife and kids. I just watched Matt's final episode of "Storm Chasers". I knew about Matt's death before watching the episode, and seeing him so incredibly happy and excited during that final tornado, I laughed right along with him, but cried at the same time. I just saw the last epsiode with Matt on discovery channel. I was shocked at the end to find out. He was real close to my age and so happy, I had to go online to find out. My deepest sympathies go out to the loved ones. On tv he was a great guy and so good at what he did !

I met Matt while I was chasing a huge tornado outbreak near Witchita Falls Texas. Our paths crossed that day and we talked a bit about the many tornados that day. I wasn't a close friend, but like others, later saw him on Storm Chasers and I was happy for his success. My deepest sympathy to Kendra and ther children. Goodspeed my friend.

Although I knew you only via a TV show, you were my favorite and I always loved watching you. For some reason, you touched so many people on this show and I am glad Discovery did a great montage of you at the end. My husband and I were taken aback by the news of Matt's death. So young, with so much to contribute not only to his family and friends but also to the science of meteorology.
