We were blessed to know Betty when Scott and his family lived next door to us in Hickory Hills. She was such a wonderful person - always friendly and always took a minute to stop and talk. We missed seeing her when the family moved away, but thought of her often. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. Mark & Denise Murray

Bettie was an icon in the Hickory Hills Community, and her children have all carried on her tradition and influence. My condolences to all her children and their spouses, along with the Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Our family grew up next-door to Bettie. Her daughter Lynda is one of my dearest friends. Our families shared a lot together, good times and bad. My dad and her shared a birthday too. We had the kind of neighborhood that helped each other and Bettie was always there. We had a lot of fun too, sitting outside in the summer, playing cards and just getting together. Bettie hosted an anniversary party for my parents and a wedding shower for me. I would always get a kick out of the way she cleaned for a big event. Of course their house was always lovely but when they were hosting an event they would move everything to the middle of the room, clean, and put everything back agin and it looked great. I have so many wonderful memories of BettIe but the thing I admire most about her is her strong faith and love of family and friends. My husband and I moved away but whenever I saw her she always have a smile and a hug for me and wanted to know how we were doing. She will be missed but I know she is resting in Gods arms. I will see you in heaven dear friend! Love to her family ❤.

I was blessed to grow up next door to Bettie and her family. Her daughter Lynda is one of my dearest friends. I have so many wonderful experiences that I shared with them when I was growing up. The neighborhood we lived in was very supportive and always had time for anyone that was in need and had time to have fun too. Bettie hosted an anniversary Party for my mom and dad and a wedding shower for me. Her home was always lovely but when she entertained was even lovelier. I always got a kick out of how they would put everything into the middle of the room, clean everything, put everything back and it looked great. I remember these things because we really did share the day to day things with her family. My husband and I moved away but whenever I saw Bettie she always had a smile and a hug for me and was very interested in what our family was doing. She was a great neighbor, a second mom and someone who was always there for me. She will be greatly missed but I know she is resting in God's arms right now. I admired her great faith. She was a wonderful example of a loving, fun and faithful woman. I'll see you in heaven someday Bettie. Love to her family ❤.

My mom and our family would like to offer our condolences to your family. Mom, Margaret Crandall, often talked about Bettie Jane and how they were cousins. Bettie Jane was from April to November older than Mom. They both would comment on that. It was amazing to still have cousins at this stage of their lives. The last time Mom talked to her on the phone I was also able to talk to her. She was upbeat with a positive attitude. Take care and God bless you all.
