Sister Eileen Foran CSJ Obituary

Published by O'Neil Funeral Home (London) Ltd. from Jun. 29 to Jun. 30, 2021.
The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada is saddened to announce that Sister Eileen Foran (Sister Vincentia) died peacefully at the residence of the Sisters of St. Joseph 485 Windermere Road, London Ontario, on June 28, 2021.
Eileen Catherine Foran was born on May 7, 1925, in West Wawanosh in Huron County and entered the Sisters of St. Joseph on November 21, 1945 at Sacred Heart Convent. She will be fondly remembered by all her CSJ Sisters as well as her sister-in-law Helen Foran and many nephews and nieces including Patricia Needham and Rosemary Foran.
Sister Eileen is predeceased by her mother Mary Ellen (Keane) and her father Cornelius Foran, brothers John (Sophie), James, Elmer (Isabel), Norman, Leo, twin brother Gordon and her sister Mary Teresa (Sister Mary Cornelius, CSJ). Eileen possessed a pioneering spirit that allowed her to reach out wherever there was a need spending over 26 years as an educator in various schools throughout southwestern Ontario. Upon retirement, Sister Eileen volunteered as receptionist at Mount St. Joseph Academy and as a pastoral visitor at St. Joseph's Health Care in London.
Sister Eileen had a gift for language making. She had the ability to weave words together to tell a story, creative song lyrics or contribute a blog for our website. Her quiet, but strong presence, supported family members and many others during her well-lived lifetime.
Due to continuing COVID-19 restrictions a private vigil service will be held at the residence of the Sisters of St. Joseph on the evening of Thursday, July 1, 2021, and on Friday, July 2, 2021, a private funeral liturgy will be celebrated in the chapel at 11 am. You are invited to attend her funeral with us virtually. The link is www.csjcanada.org/funeralef

After many years of letters and phone calls, I finally met Sister Eileen in 2018. What a joy to be with her and talk about family history! We are from the "Vancouver branch" of the Forans. In my father's name, Frank B. Foran, my grandfather's, John Joseph Foran and in my siblings' and my name, I send my truly sincerest sympathies to all our relatives in Ontario, to the community of Sisters, and to anyone who knew and appreciated Sister's magnetic personality, sharp wit, huge heart, and love of life. May she rest in peace

Sister Eileen was my great aunt. What a wonderful, wonderful lady who always brought light and laughter wherever she was. She was always willing to share family history stories and I will remember the sound of her laughter always. Such a full and purposeful life with God, Sister Eileen spread peace, love, kindness and joy everywhere. My condolences to all her Sisters at St. Joseph's. She will be dearly missed.

Sister Eileen was my wonderful friend & coworker @ St. Joseph's Hospital. Sister Eileen truly cared about people and she loved her family. She shared many great stories about her siblings. I loved working with her. Rest in Peace Sister Eileen...heaven needs another Angel.

Sister Eileen was a very special lady. Her face mirrored her gentle kind spirit. I have fond memories of being at the home farm with my husband who was a close friend with her brother Joe.
When Allan was sick Sister Eileen visited him regularly in London and added comfort during his last few weeks.
We celebrate a life well lived
Sincere sympathy to the Sisters of the Order and the Foran family.
