One of the most beautiful souls Ive met. He drove all the way out here in a day and we spent the best week together. We met when his avatar climbed the hill mine sat on ^_^ We spent years talking. The world has lost one of the great ones. Deepest condolences to his family.

Jeff was the nicest, kindest, weird(in a good way, funniest person I have ever met. I was proud to call him one of my best friends. Always loved hearing his stories and even made a few ourselves. I don't think there will be a day that goes by that I won't think of him.

I can't remember a single time where I saw Jeff not smiling or joking around, even when he was upset about something, he'd shrug it off and make the best of it. I am deeply sorry for your loss and the loss our railroad family has suffered as well.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to the Harsh family in this time of sorrow.
I knew Jeff from several years ago when I worked as a tower operator at Rondout. Jeff was working the territory between Portage and Bensenville and passed the tower on a regular basis. We got to know each other on a first name basis from our numerous radio contacts as his trains passed the tower. He was a great guy and I am truly sorry he is gone.

Jeff and I hired out at the same time on Canadian Pacific in January of 1997 in Milwaukee. I transferred to Portage in 1998 and still seen him from time to time on my trips to Chicago. From the first time I met him in conductor training until the last time we talked in Portage early last week he always seemed to be smiling about something, never seen him down about anything, and he always seemed to have a quick one liner to a comment someone had made. RIP Jeff. It was an honor to have met you. May all your signals be clears.
