To the family and friends of Travis. I just recently found out about Travis's passing. Travis and I served in the same plt together in Iraq. I remember him and his huge smile as him and I would talk about home and telling jokes. He was an outstanding Marine and I can say proudly I had the honor and privilege to serve with him. He will be missed by all of us. My thoughts are with you and feel free to contact me.

To my family, friends and to the many of you I have never had the honor to meet,

I write this surrounded by a room full of flowers from my son's funeral. None of you through your prayers and kind words have the power to allow me to hold my son again, kiss his forehead, or touch his hand. I have laid him to rest his final time and I am not strong enough to do this. This is a pain I cannot withstand alone. I am useless to my family, my friends and myself. This weight crushes me. Then my shiny spot, my granddaughter leads a force of all of you that even the Marines would respect, to lift this weight that I am not man enough to do alone.

I will never be able to thank you all enough for helping my family, myself, for what you meant to my son. I will never again be whole but without all of you we never would be in the first place.

May God bless you with the same strong family and friends He has sent to us.

Though Travis and I weren't close we were both present in each others lives through our mutual friends and family.

I was always happy to know that Travis and Matt were there to be big brothers to Jake. Whether teasing him or playing sports or just beating him up when he needed it, they were there for Jake in a way I couldn't be!

For his friendship and guidance with my little brother as well as the wonderful service he provided for our country, I will be forever grateful. Rest in peace Travis.

When a tragic incident like this occurs, it makes us appreciate life and all of the great times that we had with that person and the memories that will always be there. Words cannot explain the feelings, friendships, and gratitude that Trav and I had for each other. Travis was like the older brother I never had, I could always look up to him… He always had good advice to give me, and he was ALWAYS there to listen if I needed someone to talk to. His memories will never be for gotten and will always be in the hearts of his loved ones.
Trav, I never did get to thank you in person…. But I want you to know how thankful I am for all of the service you have provided by serving our country, without heroes like you we wouldn’t have the freedom or rights we have today.
Travis had that amazing smile that could light up a whole room as soon as he walked in, it would brighten up anybody’s day. He will be greatly missed especially by all of the lives he touched..I still can’t believe you’re gone Trav… I think about it every minute of every day, but we all know that you are in a much happier and peaceful place now… Watch over all of us and especially your family.. Your family is in our prayers and I wish I still lived in Minnesota to support them in any way I could… I love ya man and you and all of our memories will never be forgotten and always be in my heart, my prayer will always have you in them.

Shelly and Steve, Our hearts were heavy when we received the news of Travis's death. We had great memories of him hanging out at our house in Fuquay-Varina, NC when he and Barry would come home for visits from Jacksonville. We considered him our adopted son and loved being around him. Our younger children, Katherine and Christopher loved climbing on and playing with them every time they were home. Bobby has fond memories of the last time they were together on the deep sea fishing trip. We are deeply saddened and will continue to keep your family in prayer. Bobby and Julie Little

I raised my two sons in East Bethel, they went to the same high school at the same time. I feel your loss, i went through it myself. i lost my oldest son Jesse, he was 19 at the time of his death. The only wisdom I think i can impart from my own loss is " let God carry you through this horrid loss" and no one wanted me to cry, only because they didn't know what to do, so I took a lot of showers so no one could hear me. Peace be with you & i know God will impart His love through all of this pain. Godspeed,

Dear Family, Travis stopped me in my tracks today - that beautiful smile, handsome uniform, eager look about him. Each of us touch so many lives...and sometimes we never know...Travis stopped me in my travels today. Recently someone of strong faith talked of how change lures us into thinking of death and brokenness, when God is always about life and wholeness. Travis touched my life this morning on his way to being whole in eternity. May you consider yourself blessed to have known this soul, and be strong in sharing his legacy - his story. With much sympathy, admiration and respect,
