Eleanor Aldrich Obituary

NORTHWOOD - Eleanor Edna Aldrich, 87, of Northwood, died Sunday (Jan. 18, 2009) at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Funeral services for Eleanor will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at Bayview-Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Ronald Myers will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Eleanor Edna Aldrich was born on Nov. 10, 1921, to Ernest and Elizabeth (Schroeder) Woker in Meridan, Minn. She attended Morristown Public Schools. On Feb. 16, 1940. Eleanor was united in marriage to Chester Aldrich in Northwood. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Myrtle, Minn., and a member of the Glenville American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 264. She enjoyed gardening and quilting.

Survivors include her children, Sandra and husband Ken Elwood, Jerry and wife Harriet Aldrich, Dwight and wife Eloise Aldrich, Donna Aldrich and special friend Charles Johnson, Wanda and husband Mark Julson and Debra and husband Duane Broitzman; 27 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren; sister Ernestine Meschke and brother-in-law, Kenneth Aldrich

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester; and infant sons, Curtis, Chester, and James; and brother-in-law, Donald Meschke.
