Randy Schell Obituary

Born in Kansas City, Kansas to Rex D. Schell and Melba R. Biggs. Randy moved to Alaska in 1960 with his family and graduated East Anchorage High School in 1972. After graduation he worked at the Lucky Wishbone, Paragon Mechanical, Anchorage Natural Gas and as an owner/operator for Four Star Terminals. His favorite road trip was the Haul Road to Prudhoe Bay.

Randy always looked forward to his Friday night pinochle game with his mom and sister Dana. He also loved playing a friendly game of poker and shooting pool.

His family and friends say that Randy was a loving and giving soul. You knew you could call on him for anything at anytime. The saying "would give the shirt off his back" has never been so true.

Randy's mother says: "As I watched Andy growing up with his wrestling, softball, boy scouts, riding snow machines and being successful with his jobs I was a very proud mom. He was not only my son and friend; he was my rock right to the end."

He married Gaylene Panichello and they had Kristopher. Later he married Kim Hoskinson and they had Katrina.

Randy is survived by his sons, Anthony and Kristopher of Anchorage, Alaska. His mother Melba Biggs of Anchorage, Alaska; sisters and brother in laws; Terry and Jim Wright of Willow, AK and Dana and Terry Stoner of Anchorage, AK; grandchildren; Kaden and Kaylie Carpenter of CA; many uncles and aunts; Nancy Pearcy, Chuck and Diana Pearcy, Ed and Carol Pearcy, Bob and Diana Pearcy, Margie and Mike Ginnaty, Carolyn Pearcy, Glenda and Dave Hazilt and Aunt Dot who loved him like a son. He's also survived by his special nieces and nephew; Kari Ann, Jackie, Justin, Haley and Amber.

Randy was preceded in death by his brother Gary Wayne Schell, step-father Doyle Gray, uncle Bill Pearcy and daughter Katrina Carpenter.

Viewing and Memorial Services will be held on January 11, 2012 at the Anchorage Funeral Home, 1800 Dare Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska 99515, 907-345-2244. Viewing from 6:00 - 7:00 PM - Service to follow.

Dear Randy, I'm so happy we were in touch on December 30th. It was heartbreaking to hear you were gone from here, but no doubt, you are with Katrina. I will always be grateful for the time I had with her. I loved her so much and I think of her every single day. I have pictures of her everywhere! She was the most wonderful daughter-in-law and Matthew loved her with all his heart. They gave us two beautiful grandchildren. Randy, I know you have found peace and are surrounded by so much love. We will all be together someday. Love, Beverly
