I will always remember Bill, his sisters Maxine and Betty and the Bill Freeman family. Many great memories. I also had the pleasure of driving Bill to the airport once. He took a picture of me and I still have it.

One time when I was driving Uncle Bill to Metro for one of his many trips, I got so engrossed in his story that I totally drove past the exit for the airport! He was one of a kind...probably the proudest soldier I've ever met in my life. We all loved him very much, and we'll certainly miss him. I'm just so grateful that he had such a fitting military send-off at Ft. Custer.

He was my mothers next door neighbor at The Pines. I always enjoyed talking to him when he was out and I was visiting my mother, she also enjoyed his stories of being in the army. She enjoyed hearing them as my father had also fought in W.W. II. Bill always had a friendly " Hi how are you" to everyone, he will be missed.

I had the pleasure of spending quite a bit of time with Mr.Pierce. I used to drive him to where ever he needed to go around Michigan and a couple of states and back. In that time he told me so many stories about his life and took so many pictures. He would talk to everyone he met and take their pictures. It made quite a few women blush! He always had something nice to say to brighten someones day. It was a pleasure to be able to spend so much time with him and hear his stories...a time or two. I am saddened to hear of his passing, but so happy have been able to know him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
