Just with two Campbell shipmates Wednesday 7/8/2020 looking fat old VN pictures. Harry was there and once again, stories led to chuckles and laughter. All these years later his memory provides a bright spot. He is remembered fondly.

Harry was my boss and friend on the USCG Campbell. My last day of service Harry took me out on the town in NYC. I just found out he passed . Very sad

Very sorry and stunned to hear of Harry's passing. He and I worked together for at least 15 years at Newark Airport as P.A. cops. I knew that I could always count on in any emergency. A great guy that I had hoped to run across some where in our retirement years. R.I.P. Don Kramer

Dear Mrs Yamka and Family,
Harry was the first person I met when reporting onboard the Campbell in 1966. Being new to the New York area he took me under his wing and explained the way things were done in the city.
We became great friends and drifted apart upon our return from Vietnam. I was transferred to another unit so we lost touch of each other.
He was a great sailor. Always there for his shipmates and I loved the stories he told about New York.
I shall always remember his humor and his love his shipmates.
God bless you and your family.
Sincerely,
Dannie Barrett

Dear Mrs Yamka & Family,
I served with Harry for 2 1/2 years on the Campbell. He was a good and solid friend, and a true "spark plug" amid the crew. His sense of humor and his timing of it was the brightness in every day and we had many fun times together.
Please accept our sincerest sympathy at his passing. A person's loss is always just that,a loss, but within that life lived there must be many fond memories of happiness, wonderful good humor, challenges overcome. Cherish them and burnish their memory and on the very gray days of mourning they will bring a quiet smile as you remember them.
My wife and I will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.
(If you will forward me you address, I'll try to put some of our old pictures together.
Sincerely,
Henry Newbold
