Dominic Rescigno Obituary
AGE: 41 • Toms River
Dominic "Doc" Michael Rescigno, age 41, of Toms River, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011, at home. Born in Passaic, NJ he lived in Lakehurst and Brick prior to moving to Toms River 6 months ago. He worked as a Heavy Construction Equipment Engineer for the United States Army, retiring in 2000. Doc served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Lakehurst Fleet Reserves Club; a former police officer and sheriff officer in Pennsylvania; a former member of the fire department in Garfield, NJ; and a volunteer EMS with the Albrightsville, PA ambulance squad. He loved to ride his Harley, sing and DJ.
Surviving are his mother and step-father Carol Ann (Smith) Candeloro and her husband Joseph of Howell Twp.; his father Arthur Rescigno of Georgia; one son Dominic Michael Rescigno Jr. of Albrightsville, PA; two daughters Ashley Mazzeo of Carlstadt, NJ and Brittney Rescigno of Toms River; and one grandchild Madison Dahl.
Visiting hours are Wednesday 3-5 & 7-9 pm at the Herbertsville Colonial Funeral Home, 1045 Sally Ike Rd., Brick, NJ. A Funeral service will be held Thursday 10 am at the funeral home, followed by interment at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.

I miss you Dom, I'm still trying to figure out how I am going to exist without you in my life, a big part of me is missing, I have a hole in my heart and I don't know how to cope with it. Doc was genuinely a good man. Whether we were playing shows together, or singing Karaoke in some random bar Doc always had a way of putting you in a good mood. Im happy that one of my fondest memories of doc will be one that will stay with me forever as he was the DJ at my wedding. Rest in peace, Doc.

Doc, I am completely shocked. You always seemed to put smiles on everyone's faces. I always had a blast with you, I literally have nothing but good memories. You thought of me when I was struggling in school, I always thought that was so thoughtful of you. I will definitely miss having you come around and the memories I have still put a smile on my face.

Doc aka "papa smurf" when I got the call my heart sank in my stomach. I cried and cried. I was in total shock it was YOU of all people another innocent angel taken from us. After I cried a lot I remembered the saying you said to me when I was crying was if you keep crying you won't have any tears to cry. I miss the silly times with you. At Jack and bills @ karaoke and the ocean county mall. Or even just out and about. I love you and miss you dearly my heart will follow you even though your in heaven I can still hear your talented handsome voice singing to me.
