Our thoughts and prayers are with the Enriquez family today. I'm still working at Notre Dame High School, and Steven is still remembered so fondly there. He made an indelible impression on those he knew. God bless you all.

We are celebrating and honoring your memory on your 10th anniversary graduating from William & Mary by establishing the Steven Enriquez Memorial APIA Student Fund to help students with research and academic needs such as books expenses and travel for research. Not a day goes by that this campus does not remind me of you. FASA continues to thrive and every generation after you has the same love and care that you so warmly shared. I will always see you by the grill cooking burgers for everyone else before you finally ate. We love you so much, Steven.

Steven was our shining star, his parents Manny and Diane loved him beyond measure and gave him a golden life. God gave him a superb intellect and impeccable moral character. We so enjoyed his visits. He was always cheerful and upbeat - so interesting and amusing , filled with enthusiasm for life. He had an insatiable zest for learning - Literature, Poetry, History, Politics and the Law. He had a photographic memory and maintained an A+ average from 1st grade on. He graduated cum laude from William and Mary three years ago and was scheduled to graduate with honors from the University of Buffalo Law School today. The Law School Dean has advised us that Steven Enriquez will receive special recognition at the Commencement and be awarded a posthumous J.D. degree.
His life was suddenly cut short but he will always be remembered by the many who cared so much. We shall never forget that call in the night; we will always love him and will always listen for his knock on our door.

I have so many fond memories of Steven from high school, while we all joked about how he was going to be the President one day! My favorite of all was when he changed the words from the Nelly song "It's Getting Hot in Here" into "It's getting hot in here, so please turn off the stove." When our sons were fifteen, Steven and my son Robert enjoyed making movies with the family camcorder. On returning from work one afternoon, I discovered Steven in serious converstion on the telephone. He was wearing one of my business suits, white shirt, red tie, and my black wing-tip shoes. Puzzled, I asked my son Robert what was going on. He looked up from the camcorder long enough to whisper, "He's the President, and he's in the middle of a hostage negotiation." We always enjoyed the movies our boys made together. We will miss Steven.
