Although it had been quite a few years sense we had seen each other, You were never far from my thoughts. Some little thing that would happen would make me think of all the crazy things You, myself, Nelson, Super Wedge and a host of others would do. You riding that Hodaka to Mt. Abe via the back roads when it was 5 below zero always makes me laugh. Your old Chevy with the 5 gal gas can under the hood was another one. Your easy laugh and pleasant attitude will be missed by all who knew and loved You. Say Hi to Mark Hill. God Bless, My Friend.

I had the pleasure to meet Gary and went sailing with him , my brother & SIL on the York River one day and had a BLAST of laughs .I gave him a nickname " Barnacle Bob" . He got a kick out of that. I will never forget that day . He had a wonderful sense of humor and seemed like a all around nice guy . My brother and sister in law were good friends of his through the Naval Weapons Station. They thought very highly of him. He will be missed and I pray his family and friends can find peace and comfort in this time of loss.

You sure will be missed Gary. Mornings before work and lunch times will not be the same without your laughter and jokes. I know most of your Weapons Station buddies will also miss you. I always looked forward to our first of the month rides, breakfast breaks and finding new Motorcycle Shops to walk through. Sympathies to the Phelps family.

We remember happier times jet skiing year-round to New Point Comfort Lighthouse and the Goodwin Islands, moonlight sailing until 3:00 in the morning, target practicing at the Lafayette Gun Club after midnight (your favorite time) and motorcycling on the Colonial Parkway when your brother Norman rode in from Vermont.
You could always depend on Gary.
We cherish the memories and extend our sympathies to Gary's family and friends.

As a child, I remember you going with my family camping and always talking to me about boats and riding dirt bikes. You were and always will be a great part of my dad's life and ours. True friends and love are cherished forever and you certainly touch our lives. Enjoy sailing with the Greatest Sailor with just enough wind and waves. Rest in Peace.
