Jerry E. Confer

Jerry E. Confer January 31, 1935 - August 27, 2011 Jerry E. Confer, 76, of Bellefonte, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Centre Crest nursing home. Born Jan. 31, 1935, in Howard, he was a son of the late Walte9r Lee and Goldie Baith Confer. On Dec. 31, 1954, he married Margaret A. Ishler, who survives at home. Jerry was a heavy equipment operator for Marblehead Lime for 23 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending the Grange Fair. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Denny) Herman, of Centre Hall; four sons, Gary (Jaci), of Bellefonte, Terry, of Milesburg, Timothy (Vicky), of Pleasant Gap, and Thomas (Sandy), of Howard; three sisters, Evon "Bonnie" (Ernie), Truckenmiller, of Salem, Utah, Virginia Vanemon, of Bellefonte, and Betsy (Nick) Stamatakos, of Glendale, Ariz..; a grandson; and two step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Philip, James and Joseph. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nancy Kuhns officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery in Marion Township.
