Emory Simpson Obituary

Emory A. Simpson, went home to be with Elouise, Friday, April 5th. Emory a.k.a. "Paps" (to his family and friends), 1st Sarge (from his rank in WW2), "Boss" (from this position at A & P), and others we shouldn't print here, was born in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1913.
Traveled to Weaverville, NC where he met Elouise. They were married in 1935. They lived with "Mimi", Elouise's mother. Soon after came a son, Joe, then daughter Peggy. These 4 moved to Asheville, NC, Greenville, SC, then Charlotte, NC. Except for 4 years in Birmingham, Alabama 1967-1970, Emory and Elouise remained in Charlotte, NC.
Good friends Bud Bouley (a.k.a "Cowboy" to Emory ) of Fort Mill, SC, Nancy and Walter McClure of Tega Cay, SC and Evelyn and Tom Posey and Helen Krickham of Asheville, NC have been faithful to visit--Emory appreciated it and we love you for it.
"Paps Family" -- Joe and Natalie Simpson, their son, Mark (wife Dena) and their two kids Emily and Jacob. Peggy and Ray Bouley and their two kids Kelly and Glenn (no grandkids at this writing).
Emory was a generous honest guy. He was a fun friend who loved his vodka cocktails and a little wagering on football and NASCAR. We miss you already Paps--say hello to grams for us. Go easy on St. Peter--he doesn't get many like you.
Visitation will be at Wolfe Funeral Home in Fort Mill, SC today from 2-4 p.m. The Funeral will be private.
Memorials to honor Emory, please send to South Charlotte Baptist Church, 12416 Lancaster Hwy., Pineville, NC 28134 or the Humane Society of Charlotte, 2700 Toomey Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28203.

Paps-Can you keep a secret? Of course you can, execpt from Mom...you never could. Just wanted to tell you I was thinking of you. It is kind of sad around here lately and I was just missing you. Well Mom has her hands full with two grandbabies now, Madison and Seth. Can you believe it? She is so perfect with them...Just like grams was with me. It kinda comes natural for those two. Glenn and Heidi are way into finding your A & P stuff; it is all very interesting and makes us proud of you all over again. Give grams a huge bear hug from me please. I miss you both so much.
Love, Kelly

Paps...

It has been awhile and several things have been going on since you left. As you know :)), I married Craig on Nov 9, 2002. We are happy and mom and dad take really good care of us. We really miss you. Guess what??? We are having a baby (next May). Life is great and could only be better if you and Grammy were here to share it all with mom and I. She really misses you both. She mentioned it just the other day. I Love you and Miss You!! Please continue to watch over us all. kelly

Paps, time has passed and the pain lessened, but your memory grows stronger in my heart daily. Things are always going to be crazy with the family, but you would be proud... things are looking up!!! I miss you dearly and wish you were here to share the good times with. You still following NASCAR? My boy can't seem to win anything lately. Been great talking to you! Feel a little better each time. XXXOOOXXXOOO, now and forver all my love, kelly

Paps, was just thinking of you and missing you tonight. The pain is still very close, but writing how much you meant to me helps. Things are crazy here now (as usual)which only proves life goes on - but something is missing without you here. All my love, hugs, kisses and tears...Kelly

Paps - I love you and miss you very much. I thank God that you are at peace now and pray that the pain of losing you will subside. You would have had a blast at your party we had for you on "your day". Watch over me - you know I need it. Now... you and the Shadow know. Love you, Kelly
