WAXHAW -- Mrs. Flowe went home to her loving Savior on March 14, 2012. She was born in Union County, NC on February 8, 1924 to Thomas N. and Annie Belle Hartis.
She was a loving mother who was endowed with the fruits of the spirit-love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Avast P. Price, her son Thomas A. Price and by her second husband, Arthur J. Flowe. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Aileen H. Williams and Johnie H. Goforth and by five brothers, Casper, Thomas, Clyde, Harold and James Hartis and her parents.
She is survived by a son, Edward P. Price and wife, Laura of Monroe, four daughters, Judy P. King and husband, Jimmy; Ava P. Haywood and husband, Dean, Elaine P. Kitto and husband, Mike all of Waxhaw and Debra P. Dennis and husband, Dwight of Albemarle and by Gloria T. Price, 10 grandchildren, Ryan Price and wife, Sarah, Caleb Price, Callie Gissing, Brian King and wife Amy, Amber Haywood, Kayla Haywood; Susan Furr and husband Jeff, Michelle Taylor and husband Cameron, Heather Almond and husband Jake, Alex Dennis and wife Trixie, 11 great-grandchildren, Abby and Tori King, Elijah Goley, Ryan Almond, Maggie, Sammie Jo, Jesse and Madison Furr, Emma Gissing, Cayden Taylor and Jayde Dennis, one brother, Clifford Hartis and wife Mildred. She is also survived by three step-sons, Neal Flowe and wife, Peggy, Art Flowe and wife Gay and Timothy Flowe and wife Mary, one step-daughter, Deborah Flowe and by 11 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Friday, March 16, funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm Friday at Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington Chapel, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive, Matthews, NC. Committal will follow at 4:00 p.m. Friday at the Lucy Helms Cemetery, Hillcrest Church Road, Monroe, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to White Oak of Waxhaw Activities Department, 700 Howie Mine Road, Waxhaw, NC 28173, or a charity of the donor's choice.
