Charles Grau Obituary

Charles Jason "CJ" Grau, 23, of Hernando, Florida, left his place on this earth for a more beautiful and heavenly place to be with his grandmother.
CJ is survived by his mother, Theresa Marie "Tee" Grau of Crystal River; his father, Charles Grau of Hernando; and his brother, Christopher Grau, who is actively deployed to Afghanistan as a member of The Army National Guard 690th MP Co. of the Crystal River Unit. CJ is also survived by sister, Jennifer, and brother, Anthony of Hialeah, Florida, and many other loving family members and dear friends.
CJ was employed by Townsend Constructors Inc. at Crystal River Nuclear Plant and was a student of CF of Lecanto. CJ was a devoted and loving son, brother and friend to many; but a stranger to none. His love of family was without exception and only surpassed by his love of nature and animals. CJ was an Eagle Scout of Troop 452 where he was able to enjoy friendship, nature and taught respect and love of his country and mankind. CJ will be greatly missed and his love will always remain an active part of our lives and will live on through each of us forever.
The family wishes to thank Twyla Garnett of Hernando, Florida, who comforted CJ at the scene of the accident and the medical staff who assisted CJ and the family during their time of distress. Also, the American Red Cross for their assistance in Christopher's return home to Florida.
With much love and appreciation to each friend, family member and acquaintance, the family requests those who wish to make memorials, please do so to Room For One More Pet Rescue of Florida, by sending a check to Room for One More Pet Rescue Inc., 10822 S. Darcy Path, Floral City, Florida 34436 or an online donation at www.roomforonemore.net in lieu of flowers and in memory of CJ's love and dedication to animals and their welfare and his love for life & nature.
On Friday, February 4, friends and loved ones are invited to join in a Celebration of Life for CJ at Heinz Funeral Home, 2507 Highway 44, Inverness, FL, from 6 to 7 p.m., with visitation with family following from 7 to 8 p.m. There will be no burial service as CJ desired cremation and having his ashes spread among God's creations. As an organ donor, CJ's beautiful blue eyes will still shine and his wish to donate his organs to help others will be realized.
After visitation ends at 8 p.m., friends and loved ones are invited to join the family at the home of Tee Grau and Jeffrey Roland, 105 SE 2nd Ave., Crystal River, Florida, for food and refreshments and sharing of CJ's fond memories. Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation.

Charlie and Tee, what do you say to someone that has lost a son. There are no words that I can say to ease the pain. Charlie, I met you at Texas Ranger’s BBQ some years ago and I was impressed that you rode from Florida to Texas for some BBQ. Some people say that it gets better over time, but I just don’t know. CJ, Tee and Charlie (My Puerto Rican brother), you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Prayers from the Shirley family in WV. Having lost our 22 year old son just 4 weeks ago, I know how you feel. It is the worst thing I have ever gone through. Just take it one day at a time. It does get a little easier.

To the Grau family
To say we were shocked when we learned of CJ is an understatement. We liked CJ so much and recall that evening around the camp fire when he received his eagle scout badge. Whenever we would see him he would always greet us with a big hug. It is with the warmest of thoughts that we send our condolences in remembrance of such a fine young man. We are sorry we are not going to be in town for his service. You will be in our thoughts.and prayers.
Love and prayers,
