David Paul Rascon

David Paul Rascon, 36, of Farmington, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, in Rio Rancho. He was born Aug. 9, 1975, in Farmington, to Frankie and Patsy Jacques Rascon.
David had a true love for life, always embracing the good and bad. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was so proud of his two brothers' success. He had a special love for his nieces and nephew.
David's love for sports included football, especially the Oakland Raiders, basketball, baseball and soccer. He loved golfing, mountain climbing, snowboarding, and skateboarding. There was nothing he wouldn't try while racing through life. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Miguel and Emma Rascon; and maternal grandmother, Josephine Jacques.
He is survived by his parents, Frankie and Patsy Rascon of Farmington; brothers, Joseph Rascon and wife, Alissa, and Patrick Rascon and wife, Barbara, all of Farmington; nephew, Sol Rascon of Farmington; nieces, Desirae Rascon, Bella Rascon and Emily Rascon, all of Farmington; and numerous beloved uncles, aunts and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at St. Mary's Parish, 2100 E. 20th St. in Farmington.
Rosary will follow at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at St. Mary's Parish.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at St. Mary's Parish, with the Rev. Michael Vigil as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, 1606 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington.
Pallbearers are Donny Rascon, Shane Rascon, Joey Jacques, Georgie Adelo, Paul Arellano and Scott Rangel.
Honorary pallbearer is Sol Rascon.
Arrangements for David are under the care and direction of Angel Valley Funeral Home, 2111 W. Apache St. in Farmington, 505-327-2710.

I think of you often, reflect on what a beautiful human being we were so lucky to have in our lives. Selflessly loving is how I will always remember you. You were more to me than a cousin, you were my other brother. And although life had its difficulties, I know God wanted more for you. David, thank you for being such a great friend. You have provided me with great memories from when we played baseball together, pick up basketball games, and so many other memories. I could not leave out Navajo Lake cliff jumping. Man, I wished I had a video camera from back in the day watching you do the backwards gainer off of the boulder on top of the cliff. You taught me a lot about life. Mainly, you taught me to laugh. You had a joke for every occasion and we laughed often. David, I could go on and on with all the memories you created for me as they are flooding in right now. Thank you David for being my friend. R.I.P. brother...
