Colleen Grant Obituary

1936 ~ 2012
Colleen Meacham Grant, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, returned to her heavenly home on March 17, 2012 after a brief illness. Colleen was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming on October 25, 1936 to Clarence and Geneive Meacham. She married her sweetheart, Don Grant, on August 3, 1956.
Colleen willingly shared her musical talents with others through singing, piano and cello. She loved gardening, knitting, tatting, and quilting. Every new baby was welcomed into the family with a hand-stitched quilt.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she loved the Savior, Jesus Christ with all her heart. She shared her testimony of Him by lifting, cheering and serving others. She and her husband completed two full-time missions to Manchester, New Hampshire and Dallas, Texas.
Colleen embraced her calling as a wife and mother. Her love and commitment to family was shown as she not only raised her own children, but had a hand in raising many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Through each of them her legacy will live on.
Survived by her devoted husband, Don, children, Craig (Cindy) Grant, Bart (Leila) Grant, Pamela (Larry) Smith, Dona (Russell) Schlappi, Dixy (Anthony) Broadhead, 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren, siblings, Melba Ortiz, Russel Meacham, Laura Izatt, Walter Meacham, Mary Taylor, and Martha Parker.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations to any LDS Ward Mission Fund.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Granger Stake Center 2850 West 3835 South, West Valley City at 11:00 a.m. Viewing held at Redwood Memorial Estates 6500 South Redwood Road on Wednesday, March 21, from 6 to 8 p.m., and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services on Thursday Interment Redwood Memorial Estates
