There will never be anyone like Joe, truly. He was just "one of the kids" growing up.......

My favorite Memory of Joe was at church. He would always tell me not to go to the girls bathroom alone because there were ghosts in there. After I married and moved away I would occasionally visit the home ward and Joe wanted to sit by us and hold my baby daughter. He was always happy and brought a smile to my face.

I new Joe all my life, my family and I
lived just down the street from Joe and
his family. I remember how good Joe's
family was to me, his mother especially
as she would invite me to there place
quite often for lunch & dinners. the
whole family was always there, Joes 9
sisters, one brother his Father Max and
mother Ruth. I always had a good meal
with them. I remember Joe always had a
nice smile on his face. God bless you
Ruth and family.

When I learned of Joe's passing it sent memories flashing through my mind of him. He brought happiness where ever he was. I posted his death on fb and so many people shared beautful memeories of him. Joe and his family has been a wonderful example to all. I'm greatful to Joe's Mom in that she was my example to fall back on for the short time I had my JJ who also had Downs Syndrome. I send my love to Joe's family at this tender time. May you find the peace and comfort the Savior brings.

Joe is a cherished memory of my childhood and loved seeing him every Sunday at church. I remember volunteering as a hugger at one of his swimming events when I was a teen. What a great privilege to give him a hug after he won. I hope to meet you again Joe. The world will be a little less sweet without you.

I grew up down the street from Joe in the 1980's, and visiting Joe and his parents is something I have always cherished. Later in life, I came to recognize the reason I loved going over there so much: the great amount of the Spirit that resided in their home, and with Joe particularly.
I was only five when we moved away, but I'll never forget the impact Joe had on me. I like to think we were the best of friends, and I'll miss you Joe! Be sure to tell your dad I said hello!
