Well, it's hard to believe it's been a year since you left. I miss you today as much as I did then if not more. I find it somewhat easier to adapt to life without you, but it's still a challenge. Even though you were my stepdad you had a profound influence on me that will be forever be appreciated. I am going to do my best to raise your granddaughter at least half as well as you did me. I love you so much and miss you more.

Michael Nix was truly the worlds greatest friend. There is no one like Michael. He was the most fun, the most generous, the most loyal, the most thoughtful, the most loving, you could go on and on about Michaels qualities, there are so many. There are no words to say how much we will miss your happy smiling face. We will always love you, Michael, and will remain your friends forever. You weren't just the life of the party , you were the party. Love you, Aaron and Vicky Pollock

Michael was a great human being; he was kind and happy. Art admired the man he was and how he took time to acknowledge our family and how life was going. Art said once " Mr. Nix cares more about me then my own brother and sisters" what a statement. Michael Nix was loved by Art and A.J. they speak of him fondly and will miss him. I am blessed to have met him on several occassions but more blessed that he touched the lives of my husband and son. May he rest in peace but never forgotten.

Michael Nix, I will truely miss you! He was a kind, wonderful man. He loved LIFE! He was so full of life, he shared his love for life with everyone he met, and his smile, unforgettable! I worked for Nix Door back in the day, and everyone is so right, he treated his work family right, put them first, and always was willing to help. My prayers go out to Diane, the workers and staff of Nix Door, and his family. He will be missed! Michael, your memory is our keepsake, God has you in his keeping, we have you in our hearts. See you again someday my friend!

It is hard to capture Mike's personality into words. He was a fun-loving man who wanted everyone around him to enjoy life as much as he did. I have great memories of spending many a summer day on the lake with Mike, his dad, Dink, and friends. So many other wonderful memories of parties, dinners, vacations and just sitting around talking. While we lost touch through the years, I am very saddened by his death. He will be missed, but not forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with Tommie, Diane, his children and the Nix family.

"Mike was a great person who enjoyed life and people. He ran a very successful business and really took care of his employees. I always knew when his employees visited my construction sites the quality of work was going to be superior. Diane and Family, I wish you comfort through God's blessings and we all remember the wonderful life that Mike lived even though we are really saddened by his death." Pat Wadlington

To Diane and Family, we are so sorry for your loss, he was an awesome man and always took care of his Nix family and went over and beyond what a boss normally does. My husband (Jose Chavez) has worked for his company for 20 years and Jose always bragged to me what a great and funny man he was and I have only heard great stories from my husband Jose. I have got to meet him a few times and he was a great guy, and he will be greatly missed by the Nix family and all who he graced his presence with.

We were Michael and Diane's neighbors when they lived on Willow Park Court. While we hadn't seen Michael for quite a few years, we have never forgotten his twinkling eyes and mischievous smile. It seems he was always "cooking up" something! He loved to share what he'd masterminded at the grill or one of his drink concoctions. Michael was always especially kind and generous to our daughter Hannah, who was in elementary at that time. He always supported her school fund raisers and had a kind word for her. When I texted her last night at Baylor to tell her about Michael, she immediately phoned and had vivid memories of him, even though that was so many years ago. Her sense of loss is further testimony of what a great, memorable guy Michael was. Perhaps I remember Michael the most for the phone call I received when my father passed away. He articulated better than anyone what the loss of a father is like. He was empathetic, compassionate, and understanding. I hope that Diane and the kids will have someone to comfort them the way that Michael's call comforted me that afternoon.

I am very sad to hear of Michael's passing. I am proud to say I grew up working in his company, and it was definitely a pleasure, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work for Mike. He took care of his employees, and always remembered us during the holidays, and our birthdays. He was a man of class, and has painfully left this world way too soon. My deepest sympathies, and warmest condolences go out to Diane, the Nix family, and staff at Nix Door and Hardware. Y'all will definitely be on my mind, and in my heart during this difficult time. Rest in Peace Michael.... Gabriel Guzman and Family
