Stephen Henry Harris, 52, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011, from complications of pulmonary fibrosis, with his wife by his side. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Benbrook, 1015 McKinley St. Interment: Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Benbrook. Stephen was born March 26, 1959, in San Angelo to Henry and Louise Harris. The family moved to Westworth Village when Steve was 8. It was here that Steve developed lifelong friends. Steve enjoyed working on classic cars, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family and friends, especially the time he shared with his granddaughter, Briley Lynn. Steve will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, Henry Harris. Survivors: Wife of 15 years, Dana Voyles Harris; daughters, Ashley Harris and Alicia Erion; granddaughter, Briley Lynn Harris; mother, Louise Harris; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Todd Brookshire, and Denise and Ricky Andress; numerous nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Steve. He was always a true friend to me & my hubby. Steve came to see my hubby in 2008 & sat w/him. I will never forget the kindness he showed when my George passed away. My heart goes out to Dana & the family during this time. May God give you strength now & the days ahead. Steve will be greatly missed in the community & as a friend.

I went with Steve to my high school freshman homecoming football game. It wasn't a date, and yet he gave me a mum. It was, by far, the most beautiful mum I ever received. Even at such a young age his kindness and generosity was quite evident. Heaven is rejoicing to receive this gentle giant. "Well done, good and faithful servant!"
