Josephine "Jo" Lutton

"Faith, Family, Friends, Laughter" Josephine "Jo" Lutton, age 79, of Millcreek passed away Sunday June 3, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family and following an extended illness. Jo was born in Gallitzin, Pa., on March 7, 1933. She was a graduate of Gallitzin High School, in Gallitzin, Pa., Class of 1950. Jo was a wife, mother and homemaker. She had a very positive attitude, a great sense of humor and never met a person who didn't become a friend to her. She loved flowers, sewing and was an exceptional cook. She had a strong faith, loved her family and friends and loved to laugh. She is survived by her husband of 57 years John E. Lutton; two daughters, Joanne Shafer, and her husband, Bob, of Alexandria, Pa.; Jean Bennett, and her husband, Dan, of Albion, Pa.; a son, John J. Lutton, of Edison N.J.; two granddaughters, Dawn Shafer and Jessica Bennett; a grandson, Jacob Bennett; a great-granddaughter Zoe Shafer-Carroll; a very dear friend Judy Johnson and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Ave.), on Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend prayers there on Thursday at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Julia Roman Catholic Church at 10 a.m., with Msgr. Bruce Allison officiating. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.
