Dr. G. was a true gentleman. A family friend for many years, he was full of life, love, fun, compassion and caring. Whether he was skiing, flying his plane, being my physician or just sitting and talking; he always made you feel special and important. God Bless the Elder family in this time of sorrow.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Dr Elder...he was truly one-of-a-kind. Although it might not be an original statement, I called him 'the country doctor' for his common sense approach to illnesses. He was always interested in everything that I was doing at the time, whether it was school, sports or just getting into teenage trouble. Whenever I can, I still speak of him thinking of those days. Rest now Doc E...you've earned it.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Elder. He was my doctor for many years as my mother was one of his first patients in 1948 when he and Dr Palmer took over Betts Hospital. He and Dr Palmer were so compassionate to my family with the passing of my mother. It has been very hard to find another Doctor so caring. He will always be remembered fondly in my mind. The world was a better place with him in it. May he Rest in peace.

My prayers are with your family for the happy repose of Doctor's soul. He was a good man and a very special doctor, always having time for his patients. I truly missed him as my doctor when he retired and my family had a difficult time finding a doctor they liked and appreciated as they did Doctor Elder.

I have fond memories of Drs. Palmer and Elder at the Bett's Hospital. I was born there, had my appendix out there while in elementary school and lived around the corner on Lehigh St. Dr. Elder was a wonderful, compassionate person. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I AM SORRY TO HEAR OF DOC'S PASSING. ALTHOUGH I ONLY HAD THE PLEASURE OF KNOWING HIM FOR A SHORT TIME I FOUND HIM TO BE A TRULY AMAZING GENTLEMAN. HE ENJOYED REMINISCING ABOUT HIS YOUNGER DAYS AND HIS PILOTING SKILLS. HIS KIND WORDS AND BEAUTIFUL SMILE WILL BE THE THINGS I REMEMBER ABOUT HIM ALONG WITH KNOWING HOW MANY PEOPLE HE HELPED IN HIS LIFETIME THROUGH HIS MEDICAL SKILLS. MAY IT COMFORT YOU TO KNOW THERE ARE THOSE WHO CARE AND OFFER THEIR PRAYERS. HEAVEN MUST BE AN EVEN BETTER PLACE WITH DR. ELDER THERE WATCHING OVER US.
