DAVID BROCK Obituary

DAVID BROCK, 73, of Fort Wayne passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital after a long history of illness. Born June 30, 1937, in Harlan County, Ky., to the late Charlie and Ollie Mae (Caldwell), he was employed at Tokheim, retiring after over 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and was a lifelong gardener. He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is Survived by a son, Charles Wayne Brock; daughter, Brenda Gale Brock; grandsons, Dennis Owen Brock, currently serving in Germany with the U.S. Army, and Daniel Scott Harman, serving in Afghanistan with the U.S. Army. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; and companion Joan Brouwer. With his death, he joins the Lord, and his wife of 43 years, Dora Geneva Brock. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Phoebe Blanton. Service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at Third Street Church of God, 427 Third St., with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N Wells St. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. I will never forget the times he was there for me through loosing my Daddy Stanley Brock. Or when we would go out to eat and hearing all the stories from way back when. I sure do miss uncle David and Love him dearly. He will NEVER be forgotten and will always be a part of a great special memory.
