Dear David,
I have been inspired by your undying love for your wife and her well being. You are a rare jewel in that your love is honest, sincere, and pure. I wish there were more people who honored marriage as you do. Please visit me at James Hicks SR. This is my father's web page.
People come into your life for a Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy..........Believe it, it is real. But, only for a Season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

The most dificult time for me was when you were about to pass, you opened those beautiful eyes of your and tried to speak to me, I believe you were asking for help. Some people don't realize the feeling that one gets when a person who you love more than any other asks you for something like this and there is absolutely nothing I could do to help.
That moment haunts me to this day, waht a feeling of helplessness I had that day my dear sweet Barbara, I just cannot forget that moment.
I loved you so much and I had to let you go, I am so sorry sweetheart. We will meet again and I will be forever by your side. I LOVE you so much.....

I have trouble sleeping and I don't know why
Thinking of you each night and begin to cry
I feel like you are with me sitting in your chair
Oh how I miss coming up behind you to caress your hair
Realizing now that this was Gods chosen time
To take you in his arms and end all your pains
As you did for me so long ago just with a smile
People like you are important parts of Gods plan
I am so glad that I could support you on your journey
To be with you, to fight with you for just one more day
I found that I was not as strong as I wanted to be
Unable to help you and watch your soul fly away
Heaven gained an angel, you have fulfilled your part
You left me when we had planned our relaxation
So now your smiles become a piece of Heavenly art
And now the hurt of missing you becomes a fixation
Barbara I think about you each and every day
Missing all the days and the troubles we shared
Thinking about holding your hand that special way
Not to mention comforting each other when we were scared
One thing that I can say about you without any hesitation
You taught others about life and to love one another
To me, I learned to try and enjoy each day with devotion
As for our children you always were a very loving mother
This poem was made by me and comes straight from my heart
I'll never forget you, never stop loving you even though we are apart
I am asking you for your help to overcome this grief and pain
I still pray for you, talk to you, and blow kisses until we meet again

Today, Barb was heavy on my mind and it is because I was thinking happy, smiling thoughts. Just maybe, she helped put them there as she smiles down on all of us and tells us not to despair. Lots of love goes out to her entire family and especially to David who made her life so happy on this earth.

Maddie on this special day when you reach the age of one
I thought about a getting a Hallmark to mark this day of fun
I could not find the right card for you among the stores of seven
Because this birthday wish for you is from two, with one in heaven
When you grow older I hope that you can remember when
Your grandma held you in her arms sometimes until the days end
She looked in your eyes, smiled and called you "Tiger Lilly"
You played with her, slept with her, both of you acting so silly
She loved you so much and is with you on this very special day
You can't see her or touch her but in her own special way
She will guide you and help you through all times of despair
So remember that when you need her she will always be there
You have a special gift that was bought for you with so much love
One of the last thoughts from your grandma looking down from above
I just wanted you to know that on this very special day
This birthday wish is from two even though one is away
We love you so very very much sweetie
Love, Papa and Grandma

Barbara, my sweet sweet Barbara, I miss you more than you could even imagine. This was to be our time and now it has turned out to be my time. You were my motivation in life and now you are gone. I spend restless nights and days unable to focus on work with you gone now. I am doing my best to move along until the day we meet again. Soon we will be going to Cape Cod and I will sit on the beach without you wishing you were next to me watching the ocean waves as you wished. I am happy though that your pains are over and you are enjoying the beauty of Heaven. Please give my brother Gary a hug for me. My love for you still grows stronger every day.
I miss you sweetheart .....

Barbara, We were teenagers together working at Grand Way. I remember when Dave and you started dating, I remember when you and Dave were married, and I remember when you gave birth to your first child. We experienced a lot of "firsts" together and knowing you made my life a little fuller. I will always remember you being happiest when you were bringing new life into this world. I miss your laugh, smile, hugs and the way you believed every story I ever told you, no matter how far-fetched. Love, Marc

As Today I came to express my condolences over the loss of your Mother/wife Barbara Bogart words except me. Kim, Ann Marie, Candice, Dave, Stacey and Mr. Bogart I am so sorry for your great loss. Mrs. Bogart was and will always be an awesome strong woman. She was taken way too soon in my opinion. She gave the greatest fight ever and your love helped her through it all. I know that she is so proud and loves you all more than words can say. Nothing I could say can take away the hurt or pain. Know that I am here to listen, if you need someone.
I know she is an inspiration to so many and I am sure to some to come. She will never be forgotten. Not by you or anyone that ever knew her. She has passed on and is with your uncle/brother but I know she is her with each one of you each and every day. She is in your hearts and smiles; she is in the person you are. She is a part of you. Remember all the great times tell your children/ grandchildren that are here now and those yet to join your blessed family all about her.
To me Mrs. Bogart was my friends’ Kim, Candice, and Ann Marie’s Mom who was always so nice to me, so inviting and loving. I will never forget her smile and how kind she was. Mrs. Bogart always made me feel at home when I came over. As I grew and watched her deal with the battle of Cancer I learned so much about her strength, determination, will power, Faith and love. She was a wonderful friend to my dad and my step mom.
Mrs. Barbara Bogart is inspiring and so full of life. When you look back and see How Mrs. Bogart Touched so many lives and made so many wonderful things happen. I feel blessed to have known her. I know she has brought the world and raised with the help of her soul mate four wonderful People that I am proud to call my friends.
I pray that God will heal your hearts in time and give you the peace you need. I pray that the Lord will comfort you through the grieving process. May God bless all of you. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Mrs. Bogart I will miss you, but I am so glad you are at peace and not suffering anymore. Thank you for being inspiring and teaching even when you did not know you were. Thank you for being you.

Have you ever heard the phrase, “I think Heaven has sent me an Angel?
For the majority of my younger years I often wondered how my life would turn out. There were things lacking in our family life at that time that left me incomplete as a person. I prayed that someone would walk into my life and give me those things that I so desperately needed to my make life complete.
And then a bright energetic pony tailed girl stepped into my life with a smile that anyone would die for. Barbara walked into my life and I have never been the same since. Oh I know you think a person cannot change your life but I am living proof to tell you that this is not true. What did she teach me, it's a four letter word that you don't hear very much anymore, that word is LOVE! She gave me the love that I so desperately lacked as a child growing up. She completed me as a person.
That's not all she taught me, she taught me the true meaning of the word FAMILY. She taught me that it was a good thing for families to get together and celebrate special occasions. She instilled the same feelings in all of our four children. She gave her time to her children whether it would be watching a play, sporting event or an honor ceremony. Barbara was always there and so was that great big smile. She sacrificed material things that she needed for the welfare of her children; Barbara was a giver and not a taker. If she had spare time before work it was off with the children somewhere swimming or to a park.
She made it a point to be much more active in RELIGION as I had drifted away earlier in my life. I'll never forget sitting in the Saint James office with Monsignor Owens as he grilled me to see if I would become a good Catholic and wanted me to be a good husband for Barbara. I promised him then that I would be and I kept my word. God Bless you Monsignor Owens you were also a very important person in my life. I took our vows seriously and loved her more now than when we were married here 34 years ago. Barbara was not only my wife she was and is a part of me.
Many people have asked me what Barbara liked to do, what were her hobbies? Sometimes I struggle with that. The best answer I think is that Barbara loved LIFE and all the PEOPLE around her associated with her life. Barbara was a people person there is no denial of that, her hobby was love.
Barbara was my Soul mate, my best friend, my true one and only love, a wonderful mother and a loving wife. No more hospital rooms, no more medical treatments and no more pain and suffering. She is now pain free and smiling with that big smile in Heaven above with her mom and delivering that Turkey sandwich to my brother. She is still with me today and always will be, I love you Barbara Ann.
So today I ask you all, do you think “Heaven has sent me an Angel?

It has been a learning experience for me to travel this road with Barb and Dave as both fought galantly to try to beat cancer. Barb showed an awesome spirit and it thrilled me to see how much her husband, Dave, stood by her side and fought with her. I could go on and on but all I am going to say is I have been privileged to have known such a wonderful, beautiful woman and to have known her for all these years starting with Grand Way. I know that Heaven is celebrating because they now have Barb. I pray that God continues to give Dave and the rest of the family the strength that they all had through this very sad time. Barb will truly be missed on this earth and Heaven surely has a first class angel now.

Dave & Family,
Our hearts are truly broken and Val & I want you all to know we are here for you all.
I think that the loss of one's wife/mother is by far the saddest event of anyone's lifetime. There is just no other loss that measures up to this one. But knowing Aunt Barb as we did, we know that she wouldn't want us sitting around grieving but rather celebrating the wonderful life she led.
She had few regrets in living the full and successful life that she did.

Aunt Barbara, you were a great inspiration to us all. We all love and miss you more than words can even say.
When you love someone so deeply
They become your life
It's easy to succumb to overwhelming fears inside
Blindly I imagined I could
Keep you under glass
Now I understand to hold you
I must open up my hands and watch you rise
Spread you wings and prepare to fly
For you have become a Butterfly
Love you forever and ever~
