Remembering Gidget Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 23 to Jul. 28, 2009.
The pooch famous for its role in the late-1990s Taco Bell commercials has died. Gidget, a female dog who played a male dog on TV, was given the computer-enhanced ability to exclaim "Yo quiero Taco Bell!" in the popular advertisement. Gidget also appeared in the feature film Legally Blonde 2.

(Isaiah 11:6) 6 The wolf will reside for a while with the lamb, And with the young goat the leopard will lie down, And the calf and the lion and the fattened animal will all be together; And a little boy will lead them.
So it will be in the not so distant future when we will have access to nature's wonders in animals and never long again for an animal companion ever again, what joy God has promised for all us animal lovers.

To Gidget,
You really did a fabulous job on the taco Commericals. You really made me laugh when you said Yo Quiero Taco Bell. I would've been an honor to meet you in person and take a picture with you too. Lisa Weiner

Im so sorry for your lose. I too love chihuhuas and have had many. Two of which were stolen of the same solor as Gidget. It is really hard to lose a friend. I take comfort that we will be reunited in a better place where we will never be separated again.

It is so hard to lose a pet, especially a gem such as Gidget. I am a long time owner of chihuahuas and lost one of mine to a hit and run. It was truly devastating. What else can one do but believe there is a rainbow bridge and a loving dog waiting there for us when we arrive. I am truly saddened by the news. Colleen Dold Decatur

Although I love all animals, I have an extra dose of affection for dogs. I'm VERY sorry that Gidget has crossed the rainbow bridge! My Boston girl Bonny died on July 18 early in the morning right in my arms. I bet she'll team up with Gidget in heaven :.-)) Love, Tilly

Gidget was the whole reason I first got (and subsequently fell in LOVE with) my first chihuahua! Many years later we have shared our lives with a total of 4 chihuahuas and still think they are the greatest! I hope you know how much joy the most famous of Taco Bell icons spread. They could never have done it without Gidget! :o)
