To the Boykin family, especially Penny, Melissa, Marty, T.J. Roz. My deepest condolences go out to the entire family. Bill had a wonderful home going celebration. It was also wonderful to hear the special message from God, through Tasha, she was a little girl the last time I saw her. The last time a spoke will Bill was 21 years ago. I was hanging up wall paper and doing a terrible job. My mother told me to go get Bill, his mother lived a house way. When Bill saw, my work he said, “You did this? First of all the patterns are supposed to be doing in the same directions, with a smile. I said, well how much will you charge me to do? Bill said, how about, I show you for free, and we hung the wall paper and the work he did looked good! That wall paper is still on the wall. We all had good and bad memories of Faulkner Avenue, but the good out weigh the bad. One day we will all have to leave this place this. But it should not be at the hand or hands of others. I am having a hard time. Because I do not understand why so much pain.

Love, Waltina

As a fellow Vet I knew Mr. Boykin well. He always encouraged me to assist a Vet whenever I had the opportunity. Yes, his daughter was so right: He was so very proud of his many medals and he “made“ me look at every new one he got when he came back from his many trips representing the Dayton VA. I saw him on Monday and we chatted for a while like we always did. I will miss seeing him and his pretty little granddaughter riding on his lap in his wheelchair. It was a sight to see. A good man is gone.

To a brother, brother-n-law and uncle...you will be truly missed. Thanks to all the kind hearts that have sent their condolences.
Brother, we have spent many of countless days’ growing up and staying in trouble, but we always had each other's back....right down to the end, I will forever miss you. Brother-n-law, you always wanted to know what I was baking...so this peanut brittle's for you brother. To my uncle...you stayed on me about finishing school and making something of myself, I appreciate your value in education and dreams...you always wanted to know what my next journey was. My next blog, Facebook entry, and book will be dedicated to you. I miss you already so much, love you Uncle Bill!

Love always and forever!
