Alfredo C. SANTOS

SANTOS, Alfredo C. Alfredo C. Santos, 91 of West Hartford, husband of the late Edalia da Silva Santos, and father of the late Alfred Santos, passed away Saturday, (March 26, 2011). Alfredo who was born on April 1, 1919 in New Bedford, MA, and was the son of the late Maria Adelaide and Manuel Coelho Santos. As an infant his family moved back to Portugal, to a small town in the south, Reguengo do Fetal. At 21, Alfredo moved back to the states, and resided in Manchester for most of his life. Prior to retiring he worked as a carpenter for Associated Construction for 20+ years. He was a member of the Carpenters' Union, Local 43 and a communicant of St. Bridget Church, Manchester. Mr. Santos is survived by his daughter, Diane Vale da Serra and her husband, Eric of Glastonbury, his son, Ronald Santos and his wife, Jeanne of Rocky Hill, his daughter, Deborah Madden and her husband, John of Enfield, his daughter, Linda Moore and her husband, Dennis of West Hartford, a brother, Henry Morgan of Hartford, a sister, Laura Ferreira of Florida, twelve grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, (April 1, 2011), with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main Street, Manchester. At the request of the family the burial will be private. Family and friends may call prior to the funeral mass, Friday, April 1 from 8 to 9 a.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Alfredo's name may be made to the Red Sox Foundation 4 Yawkey Way Boston, MA 02215. The family would like to thank Hughes Health and Rehab, of 29 Highland St, West Hartford, for their outstanding care and compassion for their father for the past 5 years.
