Passed away Friday, December 9, 2011 in Plainwell. Harry was born September 13, 1912 in Mystic, IA to Ernest and Alice (Greenall) Thompson. On April 13, 1934, Harry married Alice Dryer in Jackson, MI. Harry owned and operated Thompson's IGA in Cooper for many years. Surviving are his son, William (Angeline) Thompson of Kalamazoo; sister, Ellen of Jackson; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, in 1978, brothers, Leslie, Fred, Joe and Ed, and by his sister, Phyllis. Friends may visit with Harry's family from 11 AM Wednesday until the time of the funeral at 12 noon at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, Pastor Liegh Larson officiating. Burial will follow at West Cooper Cemetery, Cooper. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Harry may be made to Christian Neighbors in Plainwell or to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
