Casters,
Mitch was an amazing young man, I will never forget his big smile and how he had such a big heart. I will never forget how after I lost my brother how Mitch was always there for me. He didn't have to do what he did but he did because of how big of a heart he had. Your son made such an impact on my life, he will never be forgotten.
My deepest sympathy.

To the Caster Family,
Our hearts pour out to you on the tragic loss of your son Mitch. While we never personally met Mitch, our son Matt considered him one of his closest friends during this past summer with the Honkers. Matt was so impressed with the memorial service on Friday and the love and support that resonated throughout Wichita for Mitch and your family. We can't imagine the pain you are suffering but please know that Mitch and the Caster family are in the thoughts and prayers of so many people. God bless you and Mitch!

Mike and the Caster Family. My Heart continues to go out to you and yours. I attended the services and it was wonderful listening to everyone talk about how wonderful Mitch was. You raised a great man and he will continue to make people smile as your lives moved forward.
Every time I look at pictures of him it reminds of you and how you were always smiling in high school. Continue your faith and love for your son and know that our prayers will stay with you and your family.

Dear Caster Family,
No words could ever express how sorry I am for your family and Mitch. My heart aches for you, his teammates, girlfriend, friends and all the other people he met along his journey. I did not know Mitch personally, but I know many of the people he had an impact on and my boyfriend was able to play with him in Minnesota two summers ago (in Brainerd) as well as against him last summer. Hold comfort in knowing that Mitch is now playing for the best baseball team there is... the Angels. I have no doubt that his life will be carried on through you all and all those people he influenced. My prayers are with you all at this terrible time.

Caster Family,
My son Michael had the honor of playing with your son on the Honkers this year, he was the other "Bushy Headed right hander in the bull pen" as Mike Wagenheim would call them on his daily broadcast. Mitch taught my son that hard work, dedication and showing no fear, anything can be accomplished. Michael was one of the dozen Honkers attending the gathering at the Heck's house when the tragic news arrived, he called me shortly thereafter to let me know. His call brought tears and prayers for Mitch and your family. I also had the pleasure of meeting your son while attending games in Rochester, he walked up to me, shook my hand and introduced himself. That first contact with him I knew he was a special person. Our continued thoughts and prayers go out to your family, friends and fellow Honkers. God Bless you Mitch

My ten year old son Michael had the honor and priveledge to meet Mitch several times at the WSU baseball camps. He talks about him a lot. He is very sad at this news as we all are. He sat and stared at his baseball card for a long time Monday evening after hearing the news. He has now placed it on his wall for rememberance. This is such a tragedy that no one can explain nor can any words heal your aching hearts. We are so sorry for what you are going through. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

My family and I are deeply wounded by this news. My son's team, the St. Cloud River Bats just finished up in the north playoffs against the Honkers, played them for a week nearly everyday. My son Brandon got to know Mitch in that time, was even with him in the hotel there in Rochester. He followed along by internet back in NJ cheering for the Honkers to win it for the North, and now this. :/ My family is so sorry for this tragic loss and send out our deepest condolences to the Caster family. We don't know you but we saw your son play baseball several times over this summer and admired his fine play, seemed like a fine young man. There is no explanation for what has just happened in the blink of an eye here. Please accept our deepest sympathies and know our thoughts are with you. As we all turn to God, we send you all our strength at this time and that of the St. Cloud River Bats, and I'm sure the entire Northwoods League.

To the Caster family,
You have my deepest and most heart-felt sympathy during this time of mourning. Everyone that had the honor to know Mitch only had positive things to say about him. I had the opportunity to speak with him on several occasions this past summer. There weren't too many kids that enjoyed being at the baseball field more than Mitch. He always had a smile on his face and was a tremendous competitor. He will truly be missed by all the coaches, players, and members of the NWL community. I offer my most sincere condolences to the family members who lost a wonderful young man.

To the Casters,
It's very clear what an important person Mitch was to so many people. He was one of the most memorable athletes I have ever been around. Mitch always worked hard, expected the best out of himself, and handled himself with class. I saw him grow so much as a basketball player and as a person from his sophomore to senior year. I was so proud of him for his contributions to WSU and the way he represented himself. My prayers are with you during this time.

Caster Family~My heartfelt sympathies go out to all of you as you deal with the loss of Mitch. Baseball has been a part of my family's life for as long as I can remember. My son now plays for UW-Stevens Point but Carson Park in Eau Claire was our home field. This summer he had the opportunity to play for the Wisconsin Woodchucks at the end of the season. We were at the championship game in Eau Claire. When I heard the tragic news the next day, my prayers went up to all of you and Mitch's coaches and teammates. I know how important the 'baseball family' is as well as your own family. And I haven't been able to stop thinking about you all. Please know that even though I never met Mitch, this baseball mom shares your pain. May the many wonderful memories sustain you during this time of grief. God Bless you All!

Caster family:
My wife and I didn't know Mitch, but we were able to watch him at the championship game in Eau Claire, Wi. You all should be proud of all he accomplished. When we heard the news, it was like somebody kicked me right in the stomach. My heart goes out to all of you and you are in our prayers.
We are very sorry for your loss,

My prayers go out for the family. May God comfort you through this time. I had the privilege to watch Mitch play ball with my son, and always appreciated his all-out effort all the time. He never gave up and could win anyone over with that great smile.
Mike,
If there's anything our family can do, please don't hesitate to call on us. Know that you're being lifted up in prayer by many people.

Mike, words can't express how sorry Ronnie and I are for your loss. As I read what others said, I saw the same theme... great work ethic, great relationship maker - a great person all around. It sounds your son was just like you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

In being a player and former Honker, we lost a brother....to the team, organization, family and friends... I heard the news and was shocked and heartbroken. I never knew Mitch but God bless everyone associated with him. I hope he had the time of his life with Rochester because I know i did. My heart goes out to all.
