I Love You Brian , Your A Blessing

December 20, 2009

I knew Brian when he and his brother worked at El Paso Animal Clinic years ago. He was a quiet and shy person, but a hard worker. I consider him a hero though he would probably disagree. I could never be as brave. My thoughts and prayers go to his family this difficult time of year.

May God give your family peace in the knowledge that your son, husband and father died a hero and a great man. There's a special place in heaven, at the right hand of God, for men like him.

Our son, a serving Wichita Firefighter, attended Deputy Etheridge's
funeral as part of the honour guard. On the same day we gave tribute
to the life of a young Dartmouth (UK) soldier killed in action on service
in Afghanistan.
Our thoughts and hearts go out to you at this sad time when we seem
to stand helplessly by and watch as mindless violence takes away
our loved ones and tears at families both home and away.
You are in our daily thoughts and prayers.

I did not know Brian or his family but I do have a nephew on the Sheriff's Department who is a close friend of Brian. But it impacts us all who serve in Law Enforcement when a brother is lost. Ever since my nephew called and told me of Brian's passing you all have been in my thoughts and prayers. May God support and comfort you through the many tough days ahead. We are grateful for Brian's service and mourn his passing. God bless you all.

I didn't know you, I wish I had, you are a true hero in every meaning of the word. It is a shame you had to go the way you did and so young. It is with a very heavy heart that I send these condolences to the family of one of my former first grade students. My memory of Brian is of a little boy with a sweet, quiet spirit. He was an attentive, compliant, and courteous student. It was no surprise for me to hear that he had grown to become a dedicated officer of the law, sworn to serve and protect others. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this tragic time. May God wrap His loving arms around you and comfort you.

Words will never express our gratitude for a job well done. Your duty and dedication has placed you in the highest of places. You stood in place when others would run, you did a job not respected by some, but from this former law man, I hold you in great honor and respect, JOB WELL DONE!
Your wife and daughter has lost a great man, they will be taken care of as you would have wanted it.

Brian -- I think we crossed paths while you were at K-State because your face looks so familiar to me. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to know you on a personal level. However, everything said about you indicates you were a great person. This world would be a much better place if there were more people like you.

You died suppporting your family, upholding your beliefs, and ensuring the safety of others. For that, you are a hero. A true role model. God bless you and your family, and may you rest in peace.

October 3, 2009

My son served in the State Trooper's honor guard for your husband. I have been praying for you and your family all week, asking our Lord, Jesus Christ, to wrap you in a cover of love, and to somehow, in a very real way, let you know that life will be OK.

I would like to express my sincere condololences to the wife of Brian E. I cannot say that I understand your hurt and pain as I have never walked in your shoes. But I can say that I have a son that's 21 that had become really interested in Law Enforcement. I dread exactly this happening, as a mother and having to sit in your seat one day.I sympathize with you tremendously. When all your family, friends and deputy family have returned home to go on with their lives, I want you to know that their will be trying times of lonliness, questions, if's and whys. Just know that theirs only one person that can get you through all of this and thats God. I will continue to pray for you and your family.Hold on and Be Strong. Smile when times get difficult. Imagine Brian; smiling knowing that he left a Hero Wife behind to carry on what he has left behind. May God Bless you.

Sarah,

More than hearts can imagine or minds comprehend the love Brian had will never end. Each time you feel the wind on your face a tug on the arm its Brian whispering I will always be here to protect you every day you live on. With your little girl by your side she will see her daddy in your eyes. For the joy of laughing and joy loving enjoying the fullness found in your heart that is rewarding. Brian will be with you every day and night he is in heaven watching over the both of you. Keep a picture of Brian in your little girl’s room so she will remember what a great hero he was to her and also to you.

Although every situation and every person are different, I write as one whose only child, a son, died two months ago at age 34. I can't fully know your pain, but I feel I can relate. Your sadness engulfs me. You are bearing unbearable sorrow I know. You wonder how you will survive. I don't know. All I know is that all we can do is keep putting one foot in front of the other, trust our faith, and lean on those who care for us. Sarah, my son also left a young family. I carry your plight in my heart and send you all the peace and energy I can muster.
