Coleman Scott Obituary

Scott, Dr. Coleman L., 66, retired veterinarian, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 30, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Coleman was a dear friend and Christian brother. No one loved more or gave more to God, people, and pets. He lived and loved his life passionately, and never gave anyone or anything less than his very best. His life is a pretty tough act to follow - He lived it so well! Coleman's passing leaves a huge hole in all of our hearts, but Heaven is a much richer place today. I can only imagine the huge commotion caused by the large gathering of people and pets, whose lives he had touched, that met him at Heaven's gate and welcomed him in : ) There was no better Christian, husband, father, veterinarian, boss, and friend than Coleman Scott! He is already greatly missed! Coleman wrote me a note on Facebook last year that talked about us finally having the time to sit around reminiscing together in Heaven - I'm really looking forward to doing that! Prayers going up for all of the family! MUCH LOVE AND HUGS TO YOU ALL!!!

Reading this today made me very sad, yet brought wonderful memories from over 30 years ago. Coleman & Ruth were great friends and wonderful mentors of ours when we lived in Newton as a young couple starting our family. In fact, Ruth and I were usually in trouble of some sort for giggling, whether at church or work. Coleman exhibited wonderful Christian ethics in front of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. He was, simply, "one of the best".

Coleman has been very special to us throughout the years. First as a vet, then as a friend. He and Ruth shared their faith with us and invited us to attend church with them which lead to us to being saved. I'm sure Coleman has heard the words from Jesus "Well done, good and faithful servant". Ruth, Shawn, Julie and Jennifer we pray that God will comfort you during this difficult time. We love you all!!
