VIRGINIA ANDERSON Obituary

Virginia R. Anderson, 95, of Shawnee, Kan., passed away, Monday, December 20, 2010, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, with funeral services following at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Burial will be in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. The family suggests contributions to the Shawnee Mission Medical Center Foundation or Odyssey Hospice. Virginia was born in Prairie Village, Kan. She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church. Her husband, George D. Anderson, preceded her in death in 1988. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Morris, and a grandson, Kevin Mai. She is survived by three daughters: Waverly (Don) Lewis, Bandera, Texas, Georgeann (Kenneth) Mai, Shawnee, Kan., and Jana Rae (the late Bud) Corbin, Shawnee; six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. The class of 57 Shawnee Mission High School wish to send our condolences to Waverly and her family. Several of us do remember your mother from Hickory Grove Grade School and Troop 47 Girl Scout days as a very positive influence on our lives.
