Dear Cousin(s). Our condolences on the loss of your wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. The remarks in the Memory book indicate that she was an extraordinary lady.
While surfing the internet, the article about Betty grabbed our attention because of her maiden name, HRUBY. I am Milo (born in 1937) and my wife is Anne and we live in Ellicott City, Maryland. My dad, Wenceslaus (Wencel, often called Jim) was the younger brother of Charles (Betty's dad). Uncle Charles and dad often got together to visit, so I have fond recollections of Uncle Charles. Anne & I also infrequently got together with Uncle Charles son, "Chuck", but that was back in the 1950s and we have lost contact. Being years younger than Betty, I do not recall her when my parents visited Uncle Charles & Aunt Anne. In case none of you are aware, our cousin, Dan, (former head of the sports department of the San Jose, CA Mercury News, and son of Adolph {brother of Charles}) & Bridgett, researched the Hruby family ancestry when he was in Czechoslovakia years ago.
Again, our condolences for your loss.
Anne & Milo HRUBY

Betty's Family: The Weber Family was very sad to hear of her passing. She welcomed us into the Fairway family when Glen became an officer. Then Paula worked with her at Weight Watchers. We've never met such a kind soul! Heaven is lucky to have such a wonderful woman who will be waiting for us all.

When I think of Betty I see that glowing face and smile she gave everyone so readily. Generous of spirit and kind. The photos are wonderful, thank you for sharing them with us. The last time I saw Betty was at Blackduck the summer we sprinkled our dads ashes on Blackduck Lake. She was such a big part of that event, hosting us afterwards at the cabin. We are blessed to have known Betty, and indeed, all the Petersons.

weighed in this am and found out the news. what a shock as she always was so well, and so full of life. AND she was and is a Child of God, and it showed. she was vibrant, and alive in Him and it was so apparent in all she did and especially the things she said. she shared His love and that really got my attention. i will miss her conversations when i weigh each month but know that i will meet up with her again. she is with her Creator and she is whole again. thank you family for sharing her with us and i will pray for your healing from this loss.

LONG ago, when I asked for a tiny sweet gherkin pickle, she gave me the entire jar,- just for ME! Very impressive to a young kid! She made a person feel extra special, and her smile was there for everyone. There is another angel in Heaven, and I know she will be near us all!
My love to the Petersons;

I am so sad to hear of Betty's passing - she was such an inspiration for so many, many in the community and to Weight Watchers. She was always so positive, loved her family and friends, church and God, and had so much pride for all, never a cross word, always a smile, lots of praise and so much love. It will not be the same without our angel. She encouraged so many, including myself, to keep trying while losing weight no matter what was going on, always so positively with tips and suggestions. After reaching Lifetime she continued encouraging me to become a staff member and trained me - best teacher in the world. Betty will definately be missed but not forgotten - peace be with you. You will always live in our hearts and prayers.

Betty kept "Pete" and the family in line, and made an amazing impression on everyone she came in contact with. She truly was a person that didn't talk about what could be done- she did it! I run into people she assisted in so many ways- community, church, neighborhood, Fairway, all the time. We are all better people for knowing "Mrs. Peterson." My condolences to the family.

It has been a very long time since I've seen Betty. But, she made a lasting impression on me when we use to go to the Duck Lodge so long ago. We spent time picking persimmons and pecans in the fall. Every Fall I think of her and her smile and saying Ok, let's go! Thank you Betty for sharing your love of God's beauty! Thank you for your Kindness and love of life!

I was honored to be able to call Betty a friend and co-worker she truly was the most amazing women I have ever known. I never saw Betty without a smile on her face for everyone - when she would see me she would give me a kiss and ask me if I was taking care of myself because she would tell me we need you. I would kiss her back and tell her "Betty the WORLD needs you". We all have heavy hearts because of not having her with us but her spirit will live in all of us forever.
God has called his special Angel home and we know she now taking care of everyone in heaven.
Please know if there is anything I can do for any of you do not hestiate to call me.
God Bless and give you strength.

I was lucky to have met Betty through Weight Watchers. I looked forward to seeing her every Friday. Now, not a Friday will go by that I won't think of her positive attitude and smile. Betty will be missed but not forgotten by those of us who were graced with her kindness and most joyful spirit.

It is hard for me to begin to tell you how much your wife, mother, and grandmother meant to me. She took me on as a son and taught me and trained me to be the receptional at Weight Watchers I am today. If it wasn't for her her caring and love I never would have stay and learned how to treat members the way she could. I am most greatful that I was able to have such a wonderful person come along in my lifetime. I will always remember her in my heart. If there is ever anything I can do for any member of her family please let me know. With love Irwin

I lit a candle for you my friend
November 12, 2010
Dear Pete and family,
I am so sad to hear of Betty's passing. She was the most amazing woman I ever knew, and the most loving and loyal friend I ever had. I know from all the time we spent together that she was one of God's special angels put on this earth to guide and comfort all of us. Her prayers and friendship got me through many tough times in my life. She used to call me and leave me a message on my answering machine - simply saying "I lit a candle for you today." Her words of wisdom continue to guide me in this life. I will treasure her frienship always and will continue to love her as long as I live.
She loved her dear Pete so very much, and was so very proud of her family. She talked about all of you often. I know that losing her must be unbearable for you. I pray you will be comforted by the Lord that she loved so dearly. We know that this special woman of God is with her Lord now and forever. God bless all of you.
With love, Beth Zebley
