Still miss you every single day. You were such a good boss and treated me so good for 20 years. More like a father than a boss. I'll always remember you with love in my heart.

I have very fond memories of having the privilege to play music with Bill at some gatherings. My Aunt and Uncle, Hodge and Kathy Skeldon, were friends of Bill and we had many gatherings in Decatur, AL and played music! Bill even flew us up to Ohio and I was fortunate to play and sing at one of the Christmas parties and at his house. Got to meet Tommy Allsup, Buddy Spicher, Hoot Hester, Mac Wiseman, Josh Graves, Tommy Cash and many of Bill's family and friends (Jim & Betty Brinks; Murfreesboro TN) It was one of the best periods of my life... so much fun.

I miss all the fun Bill. I'm sorry we lost touch. Thanks for the memories!

Missing you especially during these holidays. You always made Christmas special for all of us. Some great parties with your 'bluegrass' friends. I cherish every day I knew you, worked with you, and so grateful God had us meet. A purpose in everything! Part of my heart you took with you will remain empty, but cherish all my memories. Missing you then..missing you now!

Absolutely sad news to hear about Bill Jr. I lost my only brother too 6 years ago with complications from diabetes. Too young, but God had different plans for him. Life does go on, but when we lose someone we love seems a bit of us goes with them and we are never whole again. Memories are precious and ours to keep forever.

Well Daddy, its been 7 lonely years without you :( 8-17-11

Today I remember the last time I saw your face in the hospital....We are still plugging along without you, we have no choice but to do so. I feel your strength inside of me and that keeps me going, your fervor for making things happen in life.
I was blessed to have you around as long as I did, especially when I was young. I hope you are enjoying where you are now, its so much more peaceful than where we are !

Dearest Dad,
It's a few days past Father's Day but I've been thinking about you B4 & after a lot, how I & all our family loved you. You would be very happy with all that Chris, Todd, & Keith are doing, what they have made of their lives. I know you were so glad to see us when we visited you - & you knew that the boys had to make sacrifices just to get down there to see you, since their lives were busy, just like yours. I loved it when we all came - when we were there eating our McDonald's sandwiches, or the "country ham you so loved." I'm sure you've met Jeanne by now - how I miss her praying for me. Please give her a hug for me.
Your daughter, Pam

Hi Dad, here it is one hr. past Father's Day, you've been in my heart today. It is still so hard going past all the cards in the Father's day isle and how I used to stand there reading them to find just the right one to send you. I know each day in Heaven your enjoying all your heart desires. Play all your old songs with The Good Old Boys Dad. I love you! Always in my thoughts and heart, Carol

You would love to see your grandchildren now! Remember when you saw Easton's sonogram before he was born? How you told me all about it, that Chris & Kristi had been to your house & shown you them? You enjoyed the sonograms & I KNOW you would have loved sweet Camella who's now 3 1/2 & Zakary who's 5 & funny & has some of your wit. Easton loves to play also & loves to play w/his cousin. They took such darling pictures & I'm thinking you can see them. Of course "the boys" (as you called them) are all doing well & are into new things. Roger says they take after me in that respect ha ha. Well, TTYL - in heaven if not before.

August 16, 2010

Hello again Dad,
Can't believe it's been 6 yrs! Thinking of the love we shared but realizing you're in the greatest of Love now. THANK YOU for the time we spent together - talking on the phone & times in person (not near enough though). Now I'm getting to know your lovely family a bit as well. I heard you speak of the love you had for each of them - for Catherine, C,B,C,C, & A. I saw how they loved you - & how you loved them. I saw how they were fans of yours too, like I certainly was. I heard the fondness in your voice for them many years before I met them. You told me of their many talents. Then when I met them & saw you & your wife - I knew right away where they got their good looks :) I have special pictures of family (of YOUR family) in a special place - just like you did, in your desk drawer in your Lex office.
Soon I'll start my Bible study; I know you'd be in favor of that because I saw the bible studies you were doing at your home. You told me that the gospels were the most important of the Bible. One reason I'm in BSF is to KNOW that I'm going to heaven more. Yes, I know (by faith) but many times don't have the 100% "feeling" that I'm going. But your homegoing helped as well as knowing that your immediate family are christians. Daddy (maybe 1st time I've called you that), they are an encouragement to me! I know that you love them so - & even do more now, surrounded by that sea of Love you're in.
Until later,
Love, Pamela

Happy Father's Day to a very special father. THANK YOU for every thing you gave me - & our family. I've never been cared for like the yrs. I knew you. Glad you're in a place where there is only Love. And that means your music! Your instruments (your fav mandolin, guitar, & others). Thank you for the duets we sang & for singing & playing for me & our family. Wish you could tell me about the beautiful heavenly choirs which rival the Welsh choirs you told me about. Yes, I'm sad you left before I could know you more, but I'm looking forward to knowing you for all eternity - in that heavenly City. I want to help you with your antique car again, like that time in your Lex garage...I'm sure you're more handsome than ever.
Love, your daugher Pam (Pamela as you occasionally called me :)

"TWO YEARS"

AUGUST 17, 2006

DAD, YOU’VE BEEN GONE TWO YEARS,

SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY

WHEN I HELD YOUR HAND

AND YOU SLIPPED AWAY.

THOUGH IT’S BEEN TWO YEARS

I’VE CRIED LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY

THOUGH IT’S BEEN TWO YEARS

THE HURT IS STILL HERE

THOUGH IT’S BEEN TWO YEARS

IT’S NOT COVERED UP A LITTLE

NOT EVEN JUST A BIT

NO ONE CAN EVER TAKE YOU PLACE

NOT EVER, IN OUR HEARTS.

DAD, YOU LEFT AN UNIMAGINALBE VOID.

YOUR KINDNESS IS MISSED BY ALL OF US

I TOLD YOU I’D BE STRONG, BUT IT’S NOT EASY

NOT WITHOUT YOU, 730 DAYS, TWO YEARS*

Bill Griffith was the turning point in my life. When I met him I was 12 years old. One day 15 years ago he gave me a chance to prove myself in an industry that has been very good to me, He gave me a chance when no one else would have. Bill and I had a very special relationship; he is like a father to me. Not a day that goes by that I don¡¦t think of him. I¡¦m sure he is watching down on all of us daily. Bill was an optimist. Nothing ever brought him down. He could see the positive in any bad situation, and I wish I could have more of that in my life. He always said ¡§David you worry too much¡¨. Looking back I know he was right ƒº I have never met his equal in life and I miss him dearly.

Happy Birthday Chief

I've known very few people with the vision that Bill had. The ability to read a persons needs, wants and desires. I'm thankful that Bill was able to see beyond my faults to enable me to become a part of his life and business. One of the most remarkable aspects of Bill's vision is that I'm still learning from that which he taught me to see, how to search and approach his vision of his life and company.

I'm glad to have been Bill's friend and will always be thankful for the time that we had together in achieveing his (and now my) dream. Have fun being with Jesus buddy. I will see you again someday.

Your Frend,

Johnnie

Christmas is the most special time of the year - but everyone needs to remember that it's not the gifts you give or receive, but to remember that this is Christ's birthday and we should all be celebrating JUST THAT! Can't even put into words how much you are missed and wish you were still here to enjoy this holiday (and every holiday) with us. You are alive in my heart and always will be. What a wonderful loving person you were. Miss you SO much.

Thank you for being the only grandpa I ever had. I will really miss you calling me on the phone and singing with me while I played some roll pickin' for you on the guitar. You pushed me to do the unthinkable. I love you so much and hope I'll see you again someday.

August 17th was a difficult day for those you left behind on your new 'journey'. Unbelievable it's been a whole year! But you are still right here with me - no one could ever take your place. Too many years, too many good memories. You have been such a great influence in my life and I miss you more than words can say!

Looking forward to having real peace someday in heaven myself.

Talk to you later! 'your best girl'

Your daughter, Chery, is my very best friend - just like a sister. Thank you for instilling kindness and values in her for others to enjoy!

Bill Griffith, you'll live in our hearts forever!

Bill, it doesn't seem possible that you've been gone for over a year. We still miss you so much. It seems like only yesterday we were side by side at the track trying to handicap the horses. You'd be appalled, if you were here, at some of the things in the world today. But you're in a happier place, playing your fiddle. Play one for me, Bill. Your friend in life and death, Steve and Pat

A whole year has passed since you left us Daddy, but your picture is always there in front of me. I look at your smile and hear you say those words you always used to say to us: " EVERYTHING WILL BE OK".... That is what keeps me going....

Dearest Father,

I had the wonderful experience of spending time with you as a little girl and watching you bring home all the musical instruments. We played music together as a family, you were my very first music teacher! I was blessed with your musical genes and chose that path for my career, you always supported that. When I married Jason aka "Sparky", you encouraged us both in our musical profession. I will carry on your music legacy as long as I live and pass it on to my daughter to continue after myself. You will always be with me in spirit, I know you are waiting for us all in Heaven....

I'm really gonna miss you making me sing "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" for you during Christmas time, but, at the same time, I know that now you'll be watching/hearing everything I sing.

Whenever I hear a bluegrass tune, I think of Bill and his famous jam session parties. It was a pleasure knowing Bill and doing business with him. Thanks for the memories, Bill.

Bill was always wonderful to me. The nicest, kindest, most straight-foreward person I've met so far.

Bill, you will be missed. Thank you for everything.
