Edwin Patterson Obituary

PATTERSON, EDWIN, "EARL," 69, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2005. He was born in Grayson County, KY. Earl was a loving husband, father and wonderful grandfather. He loved and enjoyed working on lawnmowers, gardening and fishing. His family will keep his memory forever and miss him terribly. He was a retired quality control inspector/polisher for American Standard, where he worked for 39 years and a member of Ralph Avenue Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Allen Patterson; father, Gordon A. Patterson; and seven brothers, Isaac, Marvin, Walter, John, Richard, Percy and Curtis. He is survived by his loving wife, Lois Johnson Patterson; a son, Michael Patterson; two daughters, Carolyn Lyons and Cheryl Gnadinger; a daughter-in-law, Donna Marmillot Patterson; two sons-in-law, Jeff Lyons and Errin Gnadinger; three grandchildren, Nicole Lyons Guptill (Philip) and Peyton and Victoria Gnadinger; one brother, Lawrence Patterson; and two sisters, Jennie Knepp and Irene Willis. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Concord Cemetery in Grayson County. Visitation will be from 1 - 9 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

Ed was a kind, quiet, and gentle person. His continuing courage & inner strength through his illnesses are inspiration to us all.
