Genoia Smith Obituary

Genoia Smith Grand Ledge Genoia Smith, born July 16, 1928 in Oil Springs, KY, passed away on December 23, 2010 at the age of 82. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Ledge, where she enjoyed being a counter. Survivors include daughters Jacqueline (Charles) Hagen of Okemos and Carol (James) Espie of Eagle; 3 grandchildren: Craig, Hanna, and Joseph; 2 Sisters Joy (Glenn) Seifert and Emily Swan both of Grand Ledge, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Jack , grandson Christopher and brothers Ermil and Marion Litteral of Jackson, MI. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2010 - 11:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 517 S. Clinton St., Grand Ledge, with Rev. Richard McKenzie officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Grand Ledge. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 P.M. at the Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. For those desiring, contributions may be given to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Eaton Community Hospice, or the American Cancer Society. We enjoyed our neighbor for about 30 years and are saddened to learn of her passing. Our sympathy to her family. We will be unable to attend the services as we are in Colorado.
