Viola Sarafin Obituary

Viola M. (Hull) Sarafin Grand Ledge Age 94, passed away January 3, 2011. She was born December 20, 1916, in Rochester, MI, the daughter of Ernest and Viola Mansfield. During WWII, she worked at Oldsmobile, and later she and her husband, William Hull, founded Superior Electric of Lansing, where she worked until her retirement in the early 1980s. Viola was a member of the Waverly 39ers and hosted many of their trips. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Leisenring; and husbands, William Hull and John Sarafin; brother, Ernest Mansfield; sisters, Ruth Platte and Lillian Scott. Surviving are: daughter-in-law, Bonnie (John) Coleman; grandsons, Robert (Kimberly) Leisenring and Andrew (Melissa Francis) Leisenring; great-grandchildren, William and Alyssa Leisenring; 4 sisters, Mildred (Wilbur) Warren, Laura (Donald) Ely, Ellen Otto, and Anna (William) Sweet; as well as many nieces, nephews and step-family members. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2011, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with interment to follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Advantage in memory of Viola Sarafin.
