Diana Pundsack Obituary
Martinez was booked into Santa Clara County jail on four felony charges, including manslaughter, two counts of hit-and-run and driving under the influence, according to San Jose police. The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office has not yet received the case but will ultimately decide what charges, if any, should be filed.
Martinez is also accused of driving without a license.
The victim, identified by family members as 79-year-old Diana Pundsack, was doing yard work at her home near Calero and Snell avenues when a Chevy Suburban jumped the curb and plowed across the front yard.

Joyce, Janet, Mike and families, I am so deeply sorry to hear what happened to your mom,(mom to many of us). She will always be remembered so very fondly by all who's hearts she touched. I was so shocked to her of this tragic ending. Are family met yours some 40 years ago when Diana welcomed us to the neigborhood we became more than friends we became family she helped me with math in the 3rd grade she would sit me and joyce down get out her flash cards she made of multiplication
problems she would walk us to hillview library where i got my first library card are families went camping and boating even after we moved we always stayed in touch. I have so many memories and all through my life I have thought of Diana as a second mom
she saw the best in every one even an onry kid like me. she gave her time her wisdom patients and love. I will miss her she is with john and God now

The family wishes to thank everyone who has called, written, brought flowers and food, stopped by to spend time with us, offered am ear, delivered comfort and kept us in their thoughts and prayers after our Mother's death. Your concern and love was heartfelt and meant so much to us. A memorial mass will be held for our Mother at Santa Teresa Catholic Church 794 Calero Ave San Jose CA (the corner or Calero Ave. and Cahalan Ave.) on Saturday May 21st at 11 AM. All are welcome to attend this celebration of Diana's Life.

Dear Joyce, Janet, Mike, Jason,Dave, and Rachel,
I just loved my sister, Diana, so much! We had a lot of growing up to do after our mother left us, and we became very, very close. We remained close all these years, and I shall miss her so much. I know that she is with the Lord now, and that is one consolation. I will always keep in touch with her children and give them any comfort that I can. I will pray for them always. On this Mother's Day, especially, I will pray for them because Diana was such a loving and caring mother. Words cannot explain what I am feeling right now. Diana will always be in my heart; not a day goes by that I don't think of her.

To our Dear Friends and Neighbors, Joyce, Jason, Janet, Rachel and Mike,
I can't even express to you how devasted we our at the loss of Diana. We loved her so much. She was such a loving and devoted Lady, She always had time for you. We have been friends and neighbors for 22 years, I would look out my kitchen window and would see her every day, gardening, taking a walk helping neighbors and in the evenings sitting in the living room front window reading,we will miss her so much! Dear Joyce, Janet, Mike, Jason and family, May you find comfort and peace knowing that beautiful Diana is with the Lord, her family that has passed and John who she loved so much! We have such fond memories of both John and Diana... going way back..43 years! Truely, two of the most adored and loved people ever! We live in the area near your home and always saw your mother walking and gardening. She would stop and chat with us on occasion and was an inspiration to us all. We lived across the street from you on Adrian Way in the 80"s then you and your parents moved to Roading Dr. We also moved in the area and we were neighbors once again. Diana was always kind and 2nd mother to me and kids of Cassell, and it always be apart of my great childhood memories. She like so many others staff members at Cassell made this world a better place, RIP.

To Mike, Joyce, Janet and Pundsack family. It is hard to convey the sadness that we feel at this time. John Henry and Diana were like family to us. If you were at the Pundsack home, you never left hungry. Diana was a real community Activist, and had a love of life that was profound. Your heart was always in the right place. She was a great woman who cared of others before her own needs. She was a great cook as well as a woman with a sense of humor and always lightened everyone with whom she came into contact with. She will be truly missed. We are truly sadden by this news and offer our deepest sympathy.

I will miss seeing Ms. Diana sitting in her chair near the window. She would see me driving slowly down the street and she would always wave. I will miss our conversations.
