Grace K. Darcy
1922 ~ 2011
RENO, NV - Grace K. Darcy, age 88, a writer and former publisher of the Carmel Valley Uproar newsletter passed away May 28, 2011. Grace was a founder of the "Carmel Valley Professional Women's Network" and formerly served as Chair for the Monterey County Commission on the Status of Women. Grace was honored as "Outstanding Woman from Monterey County" by the California Commission on the Status of Women in 1988.
Grace is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Mildred Donahue of Reno, Nevada; five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hidden Valley Music Seminars, Carmel Valley Road, Carmel Valley, California. Donations in lieu of flowers are requested for the Animal Friends Rescue Project, Pacific Grove, California.

Grace was an extraordinary inspiration to so many of us. She cared and worked hard to protect rights of women, animals and wild places. She also founded the fabulous Carmel Valley Women's Network and created the Paula B. Wainright Peace and Justice Award.
