Max Schulwolf Obituary

Max Schulwolf, 90, of Montgomery, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013.

Max was one of the original "Pawn Stars" owning Max's Pawn shop at Monroe and Lawrence Street. He was a kind and thoughtful man who loved his Crimson Tide Football. Max was a member of Agudath Israel - Etz Ahayem Synagogue. He was an Army Veteran during World War II, serving in the Philippines.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Regina Varon Schulwolf. Survivors include his three sons: Lynn (Sandee) of Louisville, KY, Marvin of Waleska, GA, and Steven of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by his sister, Esther Fleischman; eight grandchildren: Amy, Jonathan, Jessie, Rachel, Carson, Brooke, Bailey Blake and two great-grandchildren: Brody and Taylor.

A graveside service will performed by Rabbi Scott Kramer Sunday at Greenwood Cemetery at 9 A. M. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the American Cancer Society. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dorothy Dowell for her kindness to our father.

My heartfelt condolences to the Schulwolf family. I remember Mr. Max and his shop - part of downtown Montgomery history! His son, Marvin, and I have been friends since our Lanier days. I'm thinking of you, Marvin, at this sad time. Love and prayers to you and your family. RIP, Mr. Schulwolf.
