Roy Kiser Obituary

Roy O. Kiser Sr., 86, of Montgomery, AL passed away Apr. 22, 2013. He was born in Montgomery, AL on Oct. 8, 1926. Roy graduated from Auburn University at Montgomery and received a BSBA in Accounting. He was married to Doris Porterfield Kiser on Oct 13, 1948. Roy worked for National Linen Service for 29 years, and upon retirement worked for the Revenue Department of the State of Alabama for 15 years. He was a member of the Dalraida Church of Christ and had a passion for Auburn University Athletics. He overcame many physical struggles in recent years and was an inspiration to many members of the community and especially of the MCA Fitness Center. He is survived by his wife Doris; two children, Debra Bolin (Jeff) of Spring, TX and Roy Kiser Jr. (Sara) of Calera, AL. Grandchildren, Andrew Bolin of Spring, TX, Emilea Bolin Wingfield (Baxter) of Houston, TX and Haley Bolin of Huntsville, TX. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Apr. 25, 2013 at Leak Memory Chapel, officiated by Ministers; Doug Smith and Steve Housely. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Apr 24, 2013 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Pallbearers will be Stephen Porterfield, Connor Porterfield, George Pudzis, Tommy Thompson, Milton Turner and Nick Nichols. Roy loved to sing and we know that he is singing with the heavenly choir.

Mr. Kiser was always a joy to know and be around. He was very quick witted and always enjoyed just kidding around and life in general. Roy always did a great job leading singing. We loved him and Doris, he will be missed by all.
