Buddy Kemmerling Obituary

KEMMERLING, MR. BUDDY J. "BUD" Holton On December 27, 2011 Buddy J. Kemmerling was united with his beloved wife, Glenna M. Kemmerling, for an eternal stroll with their Lord and Savior. Buddy, most commonly known as "Bud", did many things worth noting. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, and when he received his rations he would buy candy and books and take them to the orphanages and read to the children. For over 30 years he was the locksmith of thousands, and when you found yourself on the wrong side of a door he was the key to the situation. Don't look for Bud to be home if there was a game for the Holton Red Devils, as he was a very proud supporter and avid fan of his team. In the summer he would be with his family on Friday and Saturday nights at the race track supporting his grandsons and great-grandson. He was anxiously awaiting another great-great-grandson, little "Racer" due in March. Little "Racer" will never know what he has lost. There wasn't a more devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great great-grandfather, brother, or husband. Before his beautiful wife Glenna passed on to glory, 13 years ago, he promised her that he would learn to knit dishcloths to use up the yarn that she had left. At the time his arthritic hands couldn't even hold knitting needles, but over the past 13 years there are at least 1300 dishcloths that have been distributed to all 7 Continents of the world handmade by Buddy in memory of his wife. Attached to each was a little note: "In loving memory of my beautiful wife Glenna Kemmerling". If you were honored to receive one please know it was knitted with unmatched love. Buddy was preceded in death by Glenna Kemmerling (wife) in 1999, Billy (son) and Carol (daughter-in-law) Shively in 1996. Sadly, he leaves behind 2 daughters: Beverly Zwolinski, Lunata (Doug) Carrier; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 6 great great-grandchildren with the 7th due in March; sisters: Carol Hills and Shirley Tibbetts; and brother, Ray Kemmerling. Continue our celebration at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday, December 31, 2011 from 2-4 P.M., and on Monday, January 2, 2011 from 12-1 P.M. with the Funeral Service starting at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Larry Bush officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service, and interment will be in Clark Cemetery. Suggested Memorial: A charity of your choice. You may sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.
