When I read all the messages from all the people that loved Charlie, I have to say it makes me smile. I was with Charlie a long time, and I was always amazed at how many friends he had. We flew to Miami Florida, and he knew 5 different people either on the plane or in the airport. Going to football games not just with Florida State, but other colleges & him knowing so many people there. I still cannot believe he's gone. I think of him constantly and all the wonderful times we had. He was so very special to me and I will always love him. BUGGY

I believe I posted here when Charlie passed. This year would have been Charlies 50th Bishop Kenny High School Reunion. COVID-19 has canceled the event, but Charlie is ever remembered and loved as an integral part of our high school experience. Charlie truly never knew a stranger and all of us that remember him do so with love, affection, and a smile. He touched us all. His daughter should know he was loved strongly by his fellow teens. Charlie and I also went to FSU together. I was a Little Sister to his SAE fraternity so was able to see first hand the love his brothers had for him. We called him Woodstock, or Woody. Love you, old buddy; rest in peace.

Ashton, I only just found out that your dad passed away. I am heart broken, Also to find out that Charlie Sr passed really put me in a state of depression. Charlie was a very special person. The world is not the same without him. Just know that your dad & grandfather worshiped the ground you walked on.
RIP Charlie, I will always love you,

Ashton, I was a classmate of Charlie's at St Jude's and we continued our friendship while I was at Notre Dame and he at Barry. I lost track of him when the family moved. I was crushed when I read in the obit that he live on Ft Myers Beach. I live in Ft Myers. I wish I had stayed connected and could have continued our friendship. He was a wonderful kid and I know he had to have been a wonderful man. Someone mentioned his blue eyes. They were startling with those lashes. Our lives are richer for knowing him. If you're on FB, please look me up. God bless you.

Thank you everyone for your kinds words and stories. It is so nice to hear your memories of "CP" :) I miss my dad incredibly and am still working on understanding a life without him in it. He was a wonderful person and father. I love him with all of my heart and soul.
I wanted to also let everyone know that Charlie's dad, Charlie Sr. passed away this past May. We miss him so much. His friendly, playful nature combined with a commitment to his faith made him an inspiration and gift to his family. We are all so sad to have two wonderful people gone too soon. I take comfort in knowing that they are reunited with God.

Dear Ashton,
Dear Ashton, Your dad and I were so close at a time when I think we both needed a shoulder to cry on. He was always there and I remember him being such a great friend and an awesome dad. I was a classmate of Charlie's way back in elementary school at St. Jude's in St. Petersburg. I remember, like so many of the other girls, think how absolutely cute he was. Then my family moved to Jacksonville in 1968 and one of the first people I bumped into at Bishop Kenny was Charlie. He was such a nice fella and was friends with everyone. He had a most infectious smile and gorgeous blue eyes. I often wondered what happened to good ole' Charlie and was saddened to hear he had gone to the big blue sea in the sky. I will miss him and pray for a safe trip to God's arms.
Take care, Charlie!

MR Peters and Ashton,
Charlie was a SAE brother and friend always. I was thinking of him yesterday and got a call that he had passed. Mr Peters I remember when you would come to Tallahassee and come to see Charlie at my flooring store many times. Ashton you wouldn't remember but your Dad and Mom came to a game at FSU and you stayed with us when you were a baby. Charlie always had that glitter in his eyes but never brighter than when he brought you to Tallahassee. Your dad was a great SAE brother, friend, and employee and one of the best salesmen I ever knew. Charlie you will be truly missed but I am sure we will party again.

Mr. Peters and Ashton,
Mr.peters I hope you know how instrumental the Peters family was in my life. I was down and Charlie reached out asked me to be his brother and move in with his family. You can never know how charlie and your family was a gift from God to me. Ashton your father took me into his home and gave me the confidence I needed to get me through very difficult times. Thank you! I will hold Charlie and the Peters family close to my heart always.

As a BK graduate, what high school girl did not have a secret crush on Charlie Peters? The blue skies paled in comparison to Charlies' blue eyes. And, in reading these wonderful tributes about Charlie reaffirms what we all knew and felt ~ he would turn out to be a great, loving, warm and caring man. God Bless Charlie Peters!

Dear Mr. Peters and Ashton,
It has been many years since I last had the pleasure of experiencing Charlie’s good company, endless enthusiasm, and natural charm. In fact, we were fraternity brothers at FSU and loving life at the time. One of my favorite memories of Charlie involved his love of music, and how much he enjoyed making and sharing good music. I remember vividly how he gathered a group of us in his room at the SAE house, hardly able to contain his excitement about a cut from a new album he wanted to share with us. Typical of his gamesmanship, part of the exercise for us was to guess who the group was while listening to the song. We were all amazed and bemused by the unique sound and stirring lyrics, but none of us knew who it was. Charlie beamed; knowing he’d just turned us on to what he knew would be a classic rock song -- Led Zeppelin’s, Stairway to Heaven. Thank you, Charlie!
With a grateful heart for having known Charlie, and with deepest sympathy for your loss,

Dear Mr. Peters and Ashton ~~ Shocking news about Charlie. I well remember the early days of our sophomore year at Bishop Kenny High School when this dazzling boy join the Class of 1970. His eyes sparkled; his smile lit up the campus. He went on to become a Campus Giant: the quarterback of our football team and the star pitcher of our baseball team. And, yet, he remained kind and generous to everyone. Please know that we will raise a glass to toast our dear classmate Charlie at our 40th reunion in August. He will be sorely missed.

Uncle Charlie and Ashton, Words cannot convey the depth of your loss. We kept up with whom I called "Little Charlie" and Ashton's accomplishments through my Godfather, Charlie, Sr. We knew Charlie. Jr. enjoyed life and Ashton excelled at it. May our Lord Jesus now wrap you in His loving arms in your loss and heal your hearts. Charlie's dash shows how many lives he touched. Charlie was a special person who always had a smile on his face and a special spot in his heart for everyone he met. Everytime I go to Fort Myers Beach I remember sailing with Charlie, Noel, John and Ashton on Sat. and Sundays. The dolphins racing next to us. What a life! I am so sorry Ashton for your loss, and Noel for the loss of his dearest friend. My heart goes out to you and all your family. My prayers are with you. Debbie Weeks McEwen
