We only met George a few times; enjoyed his company; great laughter; and the love her showed for his family; We know he is in a better place; and through the times we talked with the family during his illness; he was a strong, determined and loving person; our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends; he will be greatly missed.

I am one of the hundreds of local government lawyers who benefited from George's wisdom and sage advice on any matter involving public finance. I first meet George when he was in New York City and rejoiced when he came to NC to practice law. Without question, one of the very best and brightest attorneys I had the privilege to know and work with. George's enormous love for his family was always evident in our conversations. While it has been many years since our paths crossed, I have fond memories of George and will greatly miss him.

George was a smart attorney with a real knowledge of tax-exempt bond laws, who provided professional services to the N.C Housing Finance Agency for many years. Thousands of families live in better and more affordable homes because of George's career. He made a difference!

The world has lost a wonderful man, the Boyle family has lost its patriarch and I have lost a person I highly respected and loved dearly. I came to know Pop Pop through my sister, Maureen Boyle, and whenever I was with Pop Pop and Maas they always made me feel like I was part of their family. You will be missed Pop Pop. Rest in peace, rest in peace.

Most people are blessed once with awesome fathers. I was blessed twice. After my own Dad passed away, PopPop stepped in to fill that fatherly void. He was a very strong, determined and righteous man who gave good advice and loved his kids. His first concern, always, was his family. During his battle with cancer he showed us all the meaning of "quiet courage". While my heart is breaking, I'm finding comfort in knowing our Lord has welcomed a wonderful man into Heaven. Caitlin said it best Monday morning when she said “don’t worry Mommy, he’s happier now”. We will miss you terribly PopPop, but will see you again someday.
All our love,
Maureen and Caitlin

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.

For my Dad, my greatest hero. He showed unconditional love to me through my rough years as a teen, early years with the police departmet, and the recent years with Caitlin. His smile and laugh will be with him in heaven where he is with his brothers, parents and so many life long friends that had gone before him are. His job on earth was well done, he worked hard and spent time with his family. Five children grew up well under him and were ready for the world. I will miss our long talks, and his sharp advice. I have no regrets, nothing unsaid. Like we told Caitlin, he is free of his body that diddnt work anymore. His only concern through his fight with cancer was that Maas would be taken care of, he didn't want to go first.
My hero, the greatest man I have ever known now lives with Jesus Christ. His soul is in great company, he has returned to the allmighty father, and lives on.
With all my love, your proud son JB
