Richard Daniel Lind

LIND Richard Daniel Lind passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2011, age 63. Son of the late Otto and Alberta Hallaron Lind. Richard is survived by his sister, Patricia Lind Sullivan and husband Walter Sullivan; cousins: Louis G. Cucinotta, MD and Mary Hallaron Bourgeois. Richard retired after 30 years of dedicated service as a police officer with the Orleans Levee District Police Department. He was a member of Sunrise Square Dancing Club as well as Pelican Square Dancing Club where he was a past-president, Living History Corps of WWII Museum, and was a Civil War re-enactor. He also retired from the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard and also a Veteran of Desert Storm. He was also a member of the Sparta and Toth carnival organizations. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home (5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124) on Friday, March 25, 2011, at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery #3. In lieu of flowers, masses preferred or donations to the Humane Society.
