Ronald L. "R.J." Johnston

Ronald L. Johnston, ``RJ' GREEN -- Ronald L. Johnston, born on February 1, 1940 in Peoria, Ill. to the late Andrew and Mildred Johnston passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his family. He is survived by loving wife, Yvonne; daughter, Jenny Johnston; stepdaughter, Kimberly Teodosio; stepson, Wendall Jackson (Brenda); sisters, Carolyn Grant (Bill) of Georgia and Joann Johnston of Florida;, granddaughters, Allyson Hornak and Lexi Teodosio; mother-in-law, Virgie Lucas; special nieces and nephews; and many, many friends that were his extended family. After graduating from Elyria high school in 1958 and attending Ohio University, he proudly served in the U.S. Army with an honorable discharge in 1969. Ron was the founder and president of Contract Glass and co-owner of Fred J. Crisp Co. Glasswork throughout the city and surrounding areas will remain a monument to him and his craft. Ron was a long-time resident of Green and a 30 year member of his beloved Prestwick Country Club, his ``home away from home.' Playing golf or cards with his friends, he was truly in his element. He served as past president of the Akron Builders Exchange and as a trustee on the board of the Glaziers Union. Undoubtedly, his favorite role was ``Mayor' of Prestwick, where he always entertained with jokes and stories. He lived the life he loved and he loved the life he lived. RJ will be missed by so many. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday at 11 at Prestwick Country Club, where his family will receive friends. In lieu of flowers, simply live and enjoy your life, as he did.
