Laverne Setera

Setera, Laverne 85 09/08/1925 02/23/2011 Laverne was born Sept. 8, 1925, in Portland. When she was a child, her parents moved to Vancouver, B.C., where she attended grade school and high school. As a young woman, she moved back to Portland and worked as a lab and X-ray technician for many years. She met the love of her life, Roger Setera, while attending Western States Chiropractic College in 1965. They married Feb. 28, 1969. Laverne assisted Roger in their chiropractic practice. As an avid gardener, she was instrumental in the founding of the Risley Landing Garden Club. Being an accomplished singer, she was a member of the Sweet Adelines singing group and others. After retirement, Laverne traveled extensively with Roger. Some of her favorite trips were to China, Greece and Turkey. The last few years she traveled much of the Western U.S. with Roger in their van, lovingly referred to as "Vannella." Laverne is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Roger Setera; son, Douglas of Portland; daughter, Rochelle of Oregon City; son-in-law, Bob Feltz of Beavercreek; the apple of her eye, grandson, Skye Feltz of Oak Grove; and many loving family members and friends. Services have been held. In lieu of flowers, she would have liked for you to donate to your favorite charity.
