Megan Patton Obituary
Patton's aunt, Bunny Ferris of North Palm Beach, said that Patton was on her way to work at an information technology job in Stuart. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in spring of 2009 and moved to Florida with her boyfriend in January, Ferris said.

We were so saddened to learn of Megan's death. We were on vacation, and just learned of the news. Megan was a beautiful and fun girl. Christine had many fun times with her at HNJ. Janey, i always loved hanging out with you, when the girls had field trips, etc. You were always such a happy mom!

It’s amazing that to so many people the simple thought of your smile is what we all choose to remember in our hearts. You were such a beautiful and happy person and I will never forget you or the fun memories I have from when we were younger. It’s the small things like skipping school to eat pancakes at the diner, how your car always smelled like cherries, rainy days at dmp on the diving boards, and of course your smile...I’ll miss you pretty girl, play it sweet in heaven.

Megan will be missed. She watched over my children at the pool and became friends with my sons, often inviting them back to her house after work. Megans brothers were on my hockey team and I coached with her Dad,while mom was always in the wings cheering them on. Our lives seem to always be intwined if only for a moment. Our hearts and prayers are with you. Megan enriched our lives with her smile and warmth toward others. We will always remember her and the happiness she brought my family.

My girls and I knew Megan from her years on the synchronized swimming team. I remember her as always smiling, always in a good mood; she was a genuine optimist, and it was hard not to be happy when you were around her. All the girls on the team considered her a friend. She was always kind, and was a great example to the younger girls as she evolved into her role as team leader. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Patton family and to everyone who will miss Megan.

The loss of Megan is overwhelming. We have so very many fond memories of Megan from the many years that we spent together as a "family" of the Spiralettes.
Megan was true to her name. Megan means "pearl" and a pearl is known for symbolizing the overcoming of adversity through radiant transcendence. That is how Megan will be remembered...she was radiant in so many ways, from her smile to her warm personality. To know her was to love her. Megan, like pearls, was known to be honest, pure, wise, dignified and held in high regard. Megan was gift to all of us! It hurts to have her taken away when she had so much more to give. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the Patton family and to those that were touched by Megan.

What a cruel world we live in that someone so beautiful, kind, and gentle can be taken so unfairly. The world just seems a little less bright in her absence. I will always remember the little girl and her family that lived behind me growing up, and I will always remember her days at Holy Name with me. Most of all, I will always remember her smile and her laugh. I will forever regret not having kept in touch after middle school, especially while she was at Pitt with me. John, Janey, Jack, Tony and Austin: The Cumberland Valley Spiralettes is where we met Megan when she was 10 years old. Megan was a talented synchronized swimmer. We competed for years travelling from Ohio into New England. This small group of girls became very close - we were a family. I still am not able to comprehend that this beautiful, kind and funny girl is gone from us.

I had the privilege of going to grade school with Megan, although we have not spoken in a few years the news of this saddens me. We had so many great memories together growing up, she was such a great friend. She always had a smile on her face and was just an overall amazing person.

I only had the pleasure to meet Megan on a few occasions when she was visiting Pittsburgh after moving away, but was devastated to hear that her plans for life had been cut short. I had the privilege of working with Megan during these last few months and while I was just starting to get to know her I can tell you she was a bright, beautiful young woman with a kind soul and had a lot going for her. Megan, in the time I knew you, you were always making me and everyone else laugh. You were always smiling and you were always so sweet. I wont forget last Halloween how we totally made up your costume in like 20 min and you looked so cute! You drove me everywhere that night so i could sign up for contests. I knew Megan in gradeschool, and anyone who knew her then would agree that she was ALWAYS kind, loving, and gentle to every soul she encountered. When I think of my years at Holy Name, Megan Patton was the girl who was sweet, pretty, shy but not too shy, and just so NICE to everybody. She was a special kind of person, and I'm honored to have had those years to learn from her shining example.

Dear Megan... I haven't talked to you in awhile.. but I think about you a lot.. I went through my old photo albums today and dug out some of our old pictures.. we were like 8 haha. I remember our sleepovers, our trips together and all of our adventures in the woods behind your house! You were an amazing person, and you will be deeply missed. I regret that our friendship faded a bit, but I know you have continued to touch the lives of many others, just like you did mine. To Mr. and Mrs. P and the boys, my sympathy goes out to you all. If there is anything I can do, do not hesitate to call. May you rest in peace Meg. You will always be in our thoughts and prayers.
